Poor approach to supporting artists and…

Poor approach to supporting artists and the arts. The classical music scene in Sheffield is a disaster, and all music events are super expensive. Sheffield owned City Hall prefers to charge around 30% fees on top of ticket prices (most of which I presume goes to Ticketmaster and definitely not to the artists). I presume most of the pre-ticket price doesn't go to the artists either. The audiences are consequently poor. I prefer to vote with my feet and go to events elsewhere given these rip-off fees. The Council has no right to misuse public buildings, assets and trust in this way.

One star richly deserved

One star richly deserved. Amex seems no longer to care about their reputation and procedures.

Laughable 4 hour long waste of time exercise today and yesterday where they demanded I upload my drivers licence because I have been a customer for a long time (15 years) and my ID needs revalidating. Fine if the law requires that. But then their form to upload the licence demands a drivers licence number (which contains letters and numbers) and no matter what is entered it comes up with this error message saying the form cannot be submitted because the field requires both letters and numbers. Go figure. If their coders cannot get this right am I sure my money is safe. Then you can't log in because this document is missing. Then have a 2 hour long messaging chat about it. Then call and get put through to three people in a sequence (after being cut off the first time). The first person says it is a known problem which they are going to fix. The fix is to pass you through to someone else and then to a third person who then says they are not fixing the problem. What a complete mess of a company - and a company which once had a stellar reputation. God help us all.

My experience mirrors exactly that of others here. I won't comment on the value of the card especially for people outside of London and beyond the first year (extremely poor value at the moment) but rather on the customer service side. 3 days notification of a changed Direct Debit amount, money taken from account long before the renewal date, and with no opportunity to cancel (their terms state that once cards are posted out and payment is made no refunds are allowed - which is blatantly against the terms of their Direct Debit mandate). Then when they do agree to refund they drag their feet, agree to refund and then (per others) fail to respond to correspondence (after a bizarre 14 day waiting period they impose). Honestly they are not doing themselves or the venues any good at all by making the whole thing seem so scammy. People who would remain members are choosing to vote with their feet. Could do better.

I used to like virgin bank

I used to like virgin bank - but right now they appear to be a total shambles. The Bank has different parts which don't talk to each other at all. They offer savings accounts which have better rates if you have a current account, but it is impossible to open these because the current account bank is a different part of the bank and the one knows nothing about the other. Customer service advisors haven't a clue about anything and when calls are not cut off advice given is contradictory from one agent to the next. Just not worth the time or the effort, and I guess with their pending merger their staff feel the same way. A total disaster.

Unfortunately a request for a quote is followed up not only by the quote, but by a veritable barrage of spam Emails every day to solicit business. Will not be using them. Very bad practice.

(the response to this review is mysterious - since the responders cannot possibly know who the reviewer is on this occasion - and no, the quote was not on the date stated in response)

This company tells straightforward lies…

This company tells straightforward lies to minimise legally mandated delay claims. When delays I experience are well over an hour and a half they falsely claim that the delay was only 30 minutes. Very hard for an individual customer to prove otherwise without joining with other aggrieved customers. They really should be put out of business and the bosses fired.

Website is massively problematical, poor value

Website is massively problematical - can't even order a new card. After hours of spinning wheels etc....
And the main telephone number on their website just cuts off.

This looks like a third party skimming organisation that is taking advantage of museums and offering an front interface that is just putting people off. Anyway I thought I would renew even though the value is poor - but can't even do that - and they seem not to care either.

Just took 27 minutes to answer the phone for a simple car breakdown renewal. Thanks but no thanks -- if this is the standard level of service in 2023 I'll vote with my feet. If they take this long to make themselves available to renew a contract, they can hardly be trusted when it comes to carrying out their obligations....
I'm voting with my feet with all these companies who have used the pandemic, WFO initiatives etc to let customers down.

Really really worrying that their login…

Really really worrying that their login authentication system is totally broken, can't log in as OTP codes never come to phone (landline). On basis of other reports scared to try too many times (already tried 5 times) as this apparently leads to account blocking and inability to access funds until you can get hold of someone on the phone which is impossible. Governments setting great standards here for the security of banking. And no apparent attempts to fix it....

Customer service responses variable

Edit: I'm revising this review to 3* and hopefully higher following ongoing engagement with Fiskars (hopefully this just represented a blip for them)

Previous good reviews and of good customer service noted. However, I fear that Fiskars UK is now one of the many companies whose customer service has gone down the drain, and potentially my loyalty with it. I E-mailed them 2 weeks ago to ask about a long tree lopper with (yet again) a broken string, to help identify the model and to source parts. After a week a received a response which had no relevance to the question asked. I asked again -- and now no response at all. Poor customer serve equals a poor product - and potentially loss of a customer.

I haven't ever had to claim on my car…

I haven't ever had to claim on my car insurance for over 15 years, but the JL policy is linked to RAC motor cover - a bad choice which discredits the JL policy (RAC are those folk who fail to attend callouts for 9 hours - or ever - leaving folk abandoned - JL as the policy seller seem not to care.

PS: Nice gambit with the below though "Can you kindly share more details of your experience at the following email address: xxxxxxxx"

I did exactly that with absolutely zero response.

Failed to attend for over 9 hours

Failed to attend for over 9 hours. Failed to send promised taxi to take us home. Failed to do anything at all and basically abandoned us and told a string of lies. Never again

A delay is one thing. Being lied to and placed at risk in the middle of the night (by the end of this fiasco) is something else completely. Put simply - if you tell someone to wait in the dark somewhere at 1am (for a callout that was made at 4pm) - you don't just not arrive, not arrange the promised taxi, and then just walk away.

PS: 4 days later - no response, no apology (and apart from the massive inconvenience and risk to which we were subjected, am also £120 out of pocket because RAC failed do do anything for which we had paid. Anyone there?????

Great company in all dealings so far over several years. I would have moved away if that was not the case (and will do so if it ceases to be). There has been the occasional glitch but quickly sorted by staff who are actually humans and appear to be based in the UK.

Very poor and extremely rude

Very poor and extremely rude.
Do not use this agent to sell your house - endless problems and delays, and no information provided. Turned a stressful process into a nightmare. Some staff are very nice but that does not make up for terrible higher management and performance.
This was the Finchley Branch - but I believe the various branches have common management.

The mixture of 1 star and a few 5 star reviews with similar wording of the latter suggests their score is boosted by some fake positives.

Bad start so far with share centre…

Bad start so far with share centre transfer. They write with a phone number to call to arrange and say opening hours till 5:30pm. When you phone that number at 5:02pm get an inaudible answerphone that says sorry we close at 5:30! Then when you phone their main switch, they promise to put you through, then wait for 10 minutes on a dead line and then get cut off .....

Edited after response: Our next attempts were rather more efficient so added one star. One hint -- suggest you have a phone system that informs waiters they are 6,5,4,3,2,1 .... rather than a longish wait where you are really not sure what is going to happen.

Back to 3 star for forcing me to have to guess my data from the Consolidated Tax statement because you plan on sending these out four months late (blaming the Share Centre) - so why wasn't this data sent to you on account transfer. Really not acceptable, and even less so for failing to inform customers about this serious problem.
