Delivery reliability is a fundamental expectation of online retail

Repeated delivery failure by Yodel has led to order cancellation and customer attrition.
I placed an order with Argos on 10/5/25. Yodel failed the initial delivery date of 10/7/25, requiring an entire day of wasted waiting time (7 AM - 9 PM). After a revised commitment for delivery on 10/9/25, the courier failed to deliver for a second time.
As a direct result of Yodel's unreliability, I cancelled the order and communicated my dissatisfaction to Argos. Yodel's incompetence has escalated to the point where I will no longer place orders with any retailer that uses their service

Ashton Park Cafe - Rubbish

Notcuts garden centres are good. Great choice of garden plants, garden items, furniture and other retail items. Prices are competitive but cheaper with a loyalty card.
Today we went to Ashton Park centre in Ashton, Manchester. We had gone to get some lunch at the cafe. What a regrettable decision that turned out to be.
Slow service, chaos behind the tills, red hot plates for pastries and cakes without any warning and not a very interesting menu.
We ordered the Gardeners Ploughman’s at £12.95 promising cheese, bread, home made sausage roll, pickles, coleslaw and salad.
When the food arrived, the cheese was in chunks, slices and the Brie was literally only the crust. The sausage roll had given up on life, soggy, tasteless and needed a spoon of pickle to make it edible. It’s summer time, salads should be crisp, fresh and full of flavour. Not here, I’ve never had a tomato that tasted of nothing. The lettuce and cucumber were old, limp and ready for the compost. Three slices of a French stick, no butter and two slices of prepackaged ham.
When we complained, nobody came to speak to us. Absolute rubbish. Definitely will not be using this part of Notcutts again.

Contact no contact

I was contacted by Elliot from Liverpool dealership. I’ve been a customer for a few years, purchased a couple of cars, have them serviced and MOTd there too.
Elliot called to advise me I may be due a refinance according to his system. After providing him with the details requested via email, I had zero response. A week later, Insent another email and still no response. A phone call to Elliot who claimed not to have received any emails until he refreshed his email account and my emails appeared. I gave Elliot the information verbally and since then, absolutely nothing from him. That was over 2 weeks ago. Surely a call to let me know and keep me updated is not too much to ask.
I will certainly think twice before using Stoneacre again in the future.

Approach with caution

Product was ok however, this company breaches distance selling rules by charging a 10% “restocking fee.” They acknowledged this in their reply. Reported to local council.
Dealing with this company has left me out of pocket and I’ll never use them again.

Red flags soon start waving

Fake, scam and misleading. If you’ve signed up for the trial, cancel it immediately before it gets expensive. The profiles appear to show that all the people work in the same industry. Your inbox becomes very active, very quickly but you soon start to notice red flags. Once you begin to message with someone, it becomes very clear that you’re not chatting with the person in the picture. You can quickly catch them out with a local knowledge question. The person claimed they had lived in the local town nearly all their life by the canal. I provided the name of a canal that is not in the town and they said “yes that’s the one!” I do wonder if the people whose photos appear on this website are aware there images are being used. If you’re happy to pay to chat, then this site may be of interest to you. However, if you’re looking for traditional online dating, I don’t recommend using meetmyage.

Less money for wrong phone

Having used this company previously, I had a level of trust dealing with them. However, on my last transaction, that trust has gone.
I sent in an iPhone 11 256 and was quoted a price that I accepted and sent my phone off to webuyanyphone.
They acknowledged receipt and detailed the next steps. I then received an email saying there was an issue with my phone.
I logged in to discover webuyanyphone claiming my phone did meet the grade I had stated and a new offer, £100 less due to damaged bezels. I knew the phone did not have any issues prior to sending.
They included a video of a phone. However, it was not the phone I had sent in. The phone in the video had gold bezel, mine is black.
I requested the phone be returned and upon receipt, noted it was in perfect condition.
I emailed webuyanyphone who have not responded. Therefore, I am left feeling that they were deliberately attempting to lower the phone value through showing a different phone.
If you’re going to use this company, take photos of the phone before you send it in. Make a note of the IMEI number and pack it well.
I will not be using webuyanyphone again; once bitten etc. In my opinion and experience, they have attempted to pay a lower price. Their lack of response shows they are not interested in explaining their position.
Think carefully before using this company.

Why buy new

If you want photography kit at fair prices, you can’t go wrong with MPB. Ive used them a few times and found their part ex prices fair and usually the highest. They have an unrivalled choice of items to buy and the process of trading in is very quick. Mine was completed within 4 days.
They provide photos of each item they’re selling and indicate the condition. They also advise of any issues such as dust in lens etc.
I have purchased items graded as like new, excellent and good. All the items I’ve purchased have been as described.
You get a six month warranty, which isn’t the best compared to other retailers but that’s the only negative.
I highly recommend MPB and will use them again and again.

Good, old fashioned customer service

Second time shopping with Yorkshire AV and second time being very happy. I called the store before ordering and found the gentleman I spoke with to be very knowledgeable, not pushy and wanting to help. The item I wanted was not in stock, but they arranged for a direct shipment from the distributor. Speaker arrived next day and I’m really happy with it. I will definitely use Yorkshire AV again and highly recommend them.

Absolute rubbish

I have been expecting a parcel since the 16.12.2022
The only reliable thing I have received today from DPD is the daily “sorry your parcel is delayed.” Since it arrived at Hub 5, Hinckley on the 18.12.2022, it has not moved.
No customer services to contact, online help if abysmally non -existent and thanks to DPD, Christmas was ruined for my son. He’s still waiting for his present which is at Hub 5 Hinckley. Even the shop where I purchased the item from cannot get any support in finding my item. They report I am 1 of over 30 customers still waiting for DPD to deliver.
DPD apparently stands for Dynamic Parcel Delivery. There is nothing dynamic about them and they struggle to deliver beyond Hub 5 Hinckley. More like Doubtful Parcel Delivery.
Even contacting DPD MD directly gets passed over to another team who will reply 5 days later.
Retailers who use DPD will not be getting my business in the future.

DPD are just simply not good enough

DPD are just simply not good enough. Delays, delays and more delays which impact on customers. I have been waiting for a delivery from Sky which entered the DPD system on the 1.12.22. I have received numerous texts to say they’re going to deliver so I make arrangements only to receive a text o the day to say unexpected delay. Today, having received a text to say it would be delivered, I then receive notification that the package is being returned to Sky!
Come on DPD, you must do better than this.

Happy to recommend

It’s always a concern to deal with a retailer over the phone. Normally, I prefer to visit a shop, see what I’m buying and see the people who work there. No local retailers stocked what I wanted and Yorkshire AV was listed as an official stockist.
I called them, had an informative and friendly discussion about my needs. I found the guy to be extremely knowledgeable about the product, how it performed and suggested a lower priced item may suit my needs better.
For me, that initial telephone conversation gave me the confidence to go ahead an d make the purchase.
Nothing was too much trouble for the guys at Yorkshire AV, even helping to get the delivery changed to a Saturday at short notice.
I hope to be able to visit the shop at some point, but if not, I have no problem with a long distance relationship!
Yorkshire AV are in my experience, friendly, knowledgeable and provide great customer service.

Good old customer service

I purchased a CD player through their eBay store. Sadly, the one I received had issues from the get go before it died completely. When I called and spoke to the service department, they were extremely helpful, polite and efficient.
They even removed a stick CD for me and returned it to me. I now have a replacement unit and so far so good. However, I am confident that if the need arises, Peter Tyson team will be there to help.

Disgraceful

Placed an order for a vibration platform to boost my fitness routine. They sent me a massager, completely the wrong item, totally different size and worth less money.
When I contacted them, they asked me to return their item at my expense. Having explained that I was not prepared to pay to rectify their error, I was informed I would receive a collection request within 2 days. 7 days later, no collection request. Now it’s been escalated to head office, but I’m not holding out much faith.
I was going to call them, however the contact number is charged at premium rate.
Never again will I purchase from Ideal World. Awful customer service and the whole experience has been nothing but a waste of time, money and effort.

That’ll do

Over the years, I have very rarely purchased brand new photographic goods, instead preferring to buy used. I have used many companies to buy from, but it’s only a few that I return to and recommend. Harrison Cameras is one of the shops I use and have no hesitation recommending them for used items.
I have never visited the retail store, but have used the mail order a few times. Each purchase has been smooth, quick and the products purchased have exceeded my expectations on condition.
What I find impressive is their pricing of used items. Compared to other retailers, I find Harrison Cameras offer the best value for money overall. I have just purchased a Nikon 12-24 lens and did price comparisons. Harrisons weren’t the cheapest, but having purchased before, I knew their products were good quality. Indeed, on receipt of the lens, I was extremely pleased with the lens. It was in better than “good” it was described as.
Delivery was free, quick and delivered when stated.
If you’re looking for a reliable, honest and trustworthy camera retailer, you will not go far wrong with Harrison Cameras.

Almost excellent

Webuyanyphone.com offered me a good price for my device. I accepted their offer and requested a post pack. They sent a plastic envelope which would offer zero protection to any device. Luckily, I had the original box, so was able to package my device securely after taking photos and making a note of the serial number and Imei number. I do this to show the item left me in the condition described and is the same item.
Device boxed up and taken to the local Post Office on a Friday. On the following Monday, I received confirmation that my device had arrived. Webuyanyphone would carry out there checks and notify me of the outcome. On Wednesday, I had an email saying my device had passed and payment would be issued soon. Great news.
When I received notification the payment was on its way, it advised the payment would take 5 days to go through. Why? Other phone recycling companies I have used can pay quicker and webuyanyphone say same day payment. I think they should advise that payments are processed same day but will take 5 working days to arrive in your account.
Despite the long wait for payment, the whole process was easy and they did offer higher than other big name phone recycling companies.
I recommend webuyanyphone but be prepared to to wait the full 5 days for payment to be in your bank.
