The hotel is lovely. Great modern design, great staff, very friendly. The rooms are beautiful, modern and new. We had the swim up private pool and absolutely loved it, the only time it's been in our budget. The bed was comfy and the air con was so appreciated. We had tea making facilities, though no coffee or milk, just tea and sugar. We bought our own milk from the supermarket which was really well stocked and only a couple of hundred meters down the road and had taken our own coffee as we're very particular! The shower isn't the greatest pressure but we managed. The patio door had voiles for daytime privacy and both the patio door and bathroom window had fly screens meaning you could leave both open for a much appreciated through breeze. The safe was included with the room .
The food was delicious, mainly all home cooked I'd say. Sadly there was a lot we couldn't have as we're both gluten intolerant but we enjoyed what we could have.
Now for the negatives. Sadly the mixer drinks at the hotel were very poor - flat and VERY sweet. Not at all refreshing. I don't drink wine or beer so we found ourselves going out for drinks most nights, meaning we spent A LOT of extra cash! We also bought cans of coke for the room so drinks through the day were much better. My husband enjoyed the draught lager and there were plenty of people drinking the wine so they were good.
We had to ask for gluten free bread as it wasn't left out and Sadly this often took ages to arrive meaning we had to wait to start our breakfast. Breakfast for us was quite limited, but lots of choice gor normal bellies!
There are cats EVERYWHERE! Not just at the hotel but all around town. They're not ferocious, in fact quite friendly but they come into ALL of the restaurants begging for food - they just sit and stare at you! I got lots of insect bites mainly on my lower legs. As I said that wasn't just at this hotel. I think the town needs a neutering programme!
I would recommend this hotel to others and have already but only if the have no dietary requirements and only drink beer or wine! Oh and like cats!

DONT BOTHER UPGRADING!

I'll start with the negatives because without the upgrade our holiday would have felt a lot better and would have definitely been a 4* review.

UPGRADE.
ROOM. Firstly I'd advise you don't pay to upgrade to a Select room. Note: I DID see that the Select Double rooms contain an adjoining door, but I presumed they would be soundproofed. They are not - at all. It was like our neighbours were in our room; shuffling, talking, moving things around. And they weren't being disruptive or loud, it was as if the door was made of tissue. The hotel SHOULD NOT allocate these rooms to people who've paid extra to be there.
We complained at reception before we'd even unpacked. We were told there were no other double rooms but we could pay an extra 280€ for a Select Double Junior Suite, which we did as we knew we wouldn't enjoy the holiday in the other room.

UPGRADE (PRIVELEGE) EXTRAS.
The dedicated sunlounger deck is nowhere near a bar, toilets and is quite far from the pool.

The separate dining area is virtually no different. Separated by trellis from other diners. Service is no different. ALL guests get drinks table service. Only beer, wine or soft drinks. I asked for bacardi and coke due to believing Privilege gave extras at dinner - nope.
Breakfast in the separate dining area poor. You get freshly squeezed orange juice and a nespresso coffee, apart from that, you get your own buffet breakfast. There was no table service when we sat there.

The Privilege Lounge is self service alcohol and snacks. Air conditioned but quiet and lacking in atmosphere. Nice but small outside space overlooking the main thoroughfare and busy pool area .

GLUTEN FREE
Everything was clearly marked with symbols making it easy to choose. Gluten free breakfast area was disappointing with stale bread, chocolate wafers, rice cakes (they should snap not bend) cake and cereal. Gf area did have its own toaster which was great for coeliacs but didn't have it's own butter, jam etc. This needs to be added.
Some of the fruit was fresh and delicious but in terms of chopped fruit it was mostly tinned, in syrup. And the yogurt was strange, stringy! I avoided!

POSITIVES!

The food was very tasty, not a lot of variety each day but we enjoyed the salads, veg and grilled meat. There were so many different types of food on offer (pizza, pasta, breaded chicken etc) but we didn't try it due to gluten intolerance but it looked good. Nice ice cream.
ALL ice creams in freezers at the bars were free on Privilege. Magnums, Cornettos, Calyppo etc. Free ice-cream all day on all inclusive.
Drinks were huge, and branded drinks available with Privelege, however the local beer was good too (Tropical) and spirits.
Rooms were clean and things were topped up most days.
As we were Privilege our fridge was refilled with spirits, beer and soft drinks every day. Also about 3 litre bottles of water each day, some in the fridge and some for the coffee machine.
Clarins toiletries were also topped up daily.
Room was lovely with lots of space and had a lovely private balcony overlooking the sea and pool areas, but as mentioned earlier we paid twice gor this upgrade.
Staff were friendly and helpful. As per usual, the cleaners were the cheeriest always greeting with a smile.
Free pool towels was great.
Loads of lovely bars down by the marina and a short coastal walk running the length of the town (it's not a long walk!)

Sunbeds. We went 8th July and hardly anyone put towels on beds until after about 9am. We put ours on on our way to breakfast about 9.30. We preferred it on the grass area as there was shade from the trees you could move in and out of.
After 5 days lots of families descended as it was the last week of the school term , so there were less sun beds and more noise, so if this isn't your cup of tea, book an adults only. Due to the windy nature of the island, all umbrellas were fixed so you didn't always get any shade from yours until the sun had shifted.
On the whole we enjoyed our holiday but think we'd have enjoyed it more if we HADN'T upgraded. I felt like we paid for segregation!

Good competitive price and with 20% off via an offer it made it even better.

Great experience. We sat on this very set in our favourite beer garden 😀. Loved them, googled them and now we have our own. Easy and quick to put together, comfy and loom great on the decking!

5 out of 8 rolls were damaged on the ends. All 5 were exchanged, (damaged rolls did not need to be returned) after photos sent. Easy transaction. Unfortunate situation but resolved quickly and amicably.
