LG ignoring safety issues
Just over 2 months outside of warranty, my expensive LG American fridge freezer deposited a screw in the icemaker. Thankfully we spotted it before either of my children swallowed it in a drink.
When I called, LG seemed more interested in telling me my unit was outside of warranty than investigating a potentially serious safety issue. After some debate they asked me to send a picture, which I did, and then nothing. A couple of weeks later I chased them only for the same excuse to be rolled out. They seem totally indifferent to the risk of injury, expecting me, instead, to pay for an engineer visit.
As a reasonable person I expect a fridge costing nearly £1000 to last longer than 2 years. I certainly do not expect bits of the machine to be deposited in my drinking water. I am no longer willing to use the icemaker.
Avoid LG - they are not a responsible company.
