Volvo out of stock of shock absorbers

We had a fault with our Volvo V60. It took 7 days for our usual dealer Bells of Northampton to ring us back and in the meantime we had to take the car elsewhere. Then it turns out that Volvo are completely out of stock of shock absorbers and we have to order them from Europe.

Impossible to contact Bells Motor Group on…

I tried to contact Bells Motor Group on 5 and July by phone, by online form and online chat. No response. On 7th July there was a reply here that the service manager would be into touch. She eventually rang on 14th to say she’d been on holiday. People are entitled to holidays of course. But as we had no response from Bells, in the meantime we’ve taken our car elsewhere to have the shock absorbers replaced.

Professional and expert advice

Phone call with Banbury Pest Control this morning. I asked about black ant infestation under our front door. The advice given was very professional - the person explained how we could solve this ourselves very effectively and he did not pressure me to have him attend. He also explained life cycle of ants and their nesting behaviour. Very knowledgeable.

fibre to house broadband connection…

fibre to house broadband connection speed increased to over 300Mb/s : previous was 100 with BT. monthly fee is cheaper currently. there were some hiccups with the installation.

wasting time

contacted Prudential about pension due to start in October. they had sent various explanatory letters without any specific figures about how much money is due. was on phone for 90 minutes yesterday. 45 minutes for them to answer the phone and 45 minutes while their call handler read out all the information that had been in the letters. by the end we were no further forward. he then said he was not authorised to proceed further and someone else would phone back next week. i still do not know how much the payments might be or even how to get the Pru to actually pay up.

Terrible customer service

I ordered and paid for a kitchen appliance on May 25th. Argos confirmed the order but didn’t send a text to say it was on the way. It didn’t arrive. I’ve spent hours tweeting and online chat but Argos are not replying . Something has gone wrong with their usual excellent system
