FashionMia - STOP, DON'T PAY, YOU WON'T GET YOUR ITEMS!!!

I have made an order with FashionMia for few items, I received a templated email stating:

"Thank you for shopping with us. Your order B245752108232 is now being processed and will be dispatched normally within 7 days.
If you do not receive our deliery notice after 7 days, you can track your order here" (yes, that is the spelling, generally this is how you know that you are dealing with a scam)

That time has passed and the order is still with a status of "being prepared". There is a contact form that does not work and an email to their 'service' listed on your order confirmation emial, which when you email you will get a bounce-back stating:

"Address not found
Your message wasn't delivered to service@ fashionmia.net because the address couldn't be found or is unable to receive email."

If you are not convinced, email them prior to purchasing to find out for yourself.

Review of Roselinlin

'Cotton blend' means polyester in China

I have purchased the following seven items from Roselinlin, six were advertised as “cotton blend” and one as “silk”. I received a variety of materials, predominantly polyester. If this review website allows me to upload photos I will but if not, I posted those on Sitejabber.

1. "Casual Sleeveless Cotton-Blend Dresses"
SPU: LEWDRCU5501 – this item is made of cotton, it’s a very thin see-through cotton but it’s almost wearable.

2. "Short Sleeve Casual Abstract Shirts & Tops"
SPU: LE1NSH717135 – this item is polyester, the type that gives you electrostatic hair in seconds.

3. "Short Sleeve Vintage Cotton-Blend Shirts & Tops"
SPU: LE1USH713CE9 – this item is predominantly polyester but with some portion of cotton making it feel like a soft polyester blend.

4. "Vintage Silk Pants"
SPU: LE1GPA3F5773 – this item is not made of a horrible material, I don’t know what it is and how much of ‘silk’ is in it. The finish is poor quality though. Also, as you enter this SPU number to the Roselinlin search box, there will be two items, with different photos, and different prices, the version that shows the upper body (the cheap rubber upper finish) is the closest to the truth.

5. "Floral Short Sleeve Dresses"
SPU: LE1RDR2181E2 – this item is polyester, not even water droplets go through it, think of the material your umbrella is made of.

6. "Color Block Casual Round Neckline Short Sleeve Shirts & Tops"
SPU: LE1MSH54643E – this item is a polyester blend giving it a soft feel to a synthetic material.

7. "Short Sleeve V Neck Shirts & Tops"
SPU: LEZSH5K0214 – as the items numbers 3 And 6 above, a polyester blend, it definitely has some cotton in it.

I am 176 cm (5.77) tall and 58 kgs (127 pounds). In Australia, I wear Medium or Large or 10-12 usually – being tall my chest and hips are quite wide. I checked the measurement details for each item with a sewing tape as the sizing varied across all items and I ordered S and M based on the centimeters provided, yet all the items are huge, for example, a top that advertises as medium bust 98 cm is actually 106 cm bust, therefore, they don't maintain their records properly. Due to the baggy size and polyester materials, the items feel like something you would pick up in cheap mature-age lady shops. Kmart and BigW have a better quality 'cotton'

I have received a response to my review stating that they would like to know which items have been incorrect in regards to sizing – that is all they have been interested in. I wrote them a lengthy email providing this information but also explaining that I would like all these items to be actual cotton such as in the case of the "Casual Sleeveless Cotton-Blend Dresses SPU: LEWDRCU5501" as some of the items they posted are polyester. I also explained, to be reasonable, that as a consumer I am unable to identify cotton clothing on their website if they are all advertised with the same “cotton blend” description yet I have received several different types of materials. ‘Sally’ responded that:

“If you need the specific fabric composition, you can contact with us to know this information before you order”

So… I emailed them several new SPU items where all items are currently advertised as “cotton blend” and to my disappointment, I received a response from ‘Mandy’ gaslighting me stating that:

“We have listed the meterial details on the item's page . Please kindly check the item's page of them” and that “"cotton-blend" A cotton blend is another way of referring to a shirt that's made from 80% cotton and 20% polyester, linen, or rayon”

As described above this information is incorrect, the majority of items are definitely not 80% cotton.

Each time you email Roselinlin service, you are communicating with a new person and the process starts from scratch – there is no consistency which is why I see why organising returns is such an impossible process for consumers, and yes you do need to post to China, even though it is not an exchange problem but a false advertising problem. I don’t need to exchange the items as there is nothing to change to, the cotton blend items that are advertised don’t exist at all.

Also, if you are in Australia, note that even if you chose currency as AUD you will still get US cost, in my case I was charged about AUD $50 more than I was advised in writing that I was to pay.

Got refund - see update

It looks like Vincent CO.LTD otherwise known as Light in The Box is yet another China-based corporation engaging in premeditated misleading advertisement scamming customers living in countries where consumers have rights. I wasn't looking at the photos when making my decisions as I can see that they are graphically edited, NO, I was reading the information provided by Vincent CO.LTD  about each item. I purchased 3 garments as follows:

1.) "Women Casual Linen Cotton Plus Size Breathble Oil Painting Blouse Roll Up Sleeve V-Neck Loose S-XXXXXL #8498534 AUD $30.50
Vincent CO.LTD posted to me, according to their own wash care information an item made of  "100% polyester" - there is no cotton or linen in it.

2.) "Women's Simple Basic Comfort Lightweight Linen / Cotton Blend Casual Weekend Wide Leg Pants Plain Full Length Elastic Drawstring Design White Black Khaki Gray #8567631" AUD $20.86
Vincent CO.LTD posted to me, according to their own wash care information an item made of "65% cotton 35% polyester" - honestly you can not see or feel any cotton in it, just polyester.

3.) Women's Basic Comfort Linen Loose Daily Wide Leg Pants Print Full Length Print Red Green #8155696
Vincent CO.LTD posted to me, according to their own wash care information an item made of "95% polyester and 5% spandex" AUD $33.71

See, I will not return these items as the issue here is not a mistake on their part of sending the wrong item or the size not fitting, no, the problem is a purposeful, premeditated misleading of the consumers with an intention to cause them financial damages - commonly known as theft. I will only return these items at my own cost IF in exchange they post me the actual items they advertised, but I am 100% sure that those do not exist.

The part that bothers me is this isn't about cost alone, I recently picked up garments from Kmart for 18 Australian dollars that were an actual cotton-linen blend which makes me believe that this can be achieved with profits, but Light In The Box chose to be thieves. Too bad, as I live in a tropical climate and I don't mind 'lightweight' cotton or linen-cotton blend that some perceive as cheap in quality, it works for me in a humid climate but Light In The Box are not providing even that.

I would like to add that I logged in to my account with Light In The Box to review each item and attach 2-3 photos for each item and I chose 1 star for each item but surprise, surprise, Light In The Box did not allow me to post it, it just kept returning to submit screen after clicking submit without the ability to actually submit, THEREFORE there you go, the reviews are controlled by Light In The Box on their website. SCAM.

UPDATE
The experience has been interesting, I do have to acknowledge that, unlike FashionMia or Reselinlin, you do communicate with one person at LightInTheBox who appears to genuinely want to resolve your problem. I did get a full refund without the need to return the items and pay for the postage. I also received a voucher for the inconvenience and the impression that I got that LighInTheBox struggle with getting correct information from their suppliers. I am still trying to find out which clothing that is advertised as linen or cotton-linen is not polyester - that is something you need to bear in mind as the chances are the items are synthetic rather than not, the images are also edited as in "cut and paste' on a template photo which is why materials do look different than the actual clothes, I speculate that is a cost-cutting exercise instead of getting actual photo shots for each item separately, they just reuse the same shots that have the same style of a product. I have however walked away from this without any financial losses which is why I am giving them a benefit of the doubt and updating my rating.
