Beyond dreadful. Use an alternative if you can

The experience I have had with Octopus Energy's customer service is so far beyond abysmal as to be farcical. By far my worst experience with any company, ever.

I have been embroiled in a series of email and telephone exchanges with them since March to try to fix an error they made with our meter serial number and therefore billing. It is still not fixed.

Each time it seems like we might make some progress the communication stalls.

On 20 June I received acknowledgement that they had listed the wrong number against our meter and a promise this would be fixed. I also requested a refund as our account is highly in credit. One month on this is still not resolved (initially I raised the issue in March!) and no redund has been received.

I now seem to be back to the beginning in terms of going into Octopus' mass email system where multiple people respond from one email address and no one takes responsibility for resolving issues.

One of their major faults is this generic customer service email address with no individual emails given out so you can never follow up with the same person about your query.

Beyond dreadful. Use an alternative if you can.

Disgraceful and unacceptable service

I have had an absolutely outrageous level of service from Octopus. We had a smart meter fitted in February. In early March we raised an issue with it via their support team as it was not working properly and also our bills were showing the an incorrect serial meter. Three months, 35 emails and multiple calls later this is still not resolved and I have no confidence that the issue is even being looked into. Each time I ring I speak to a different member of staff who acknowledges the atrocious service, notes it has not been addressed as it should be and promises they will pick this up personally and resolve it (as well as feedback to me on progress). Each time, no action is taken and no further communication is received. In response to emails I simply receive generic responses that bat the issue down the line. If I could give this company a minus rating I would.

Dreadful experience

I had a dreadful experience with this company. I ordered several Christmas gifts for our company's clients from them. Thankfully I only ordered a small proportion to test them as a new supplier. The gifts never arrived, despite constant chasing from me.

When I did contact them to clarify when delivery would happen I recieved conflicting messages each day about the status of the orders and when they would be dispatched. Each time I was promised a next day dispatch, which never happened.

Ultimately I did receive a refund but, as a company that advertised itself as a supplier of corporate Christmas gifts, the service was unacceptable. This is a shame as the ethical concept is a good one.

Proceed with caution if you order from here and don't order anything that you need by a specific deadline.

We recently onboarded a new fulfilment partner, which unfortunately resulted in temporary operational issues that affected our service levels. At the same time we found ourselves understaffed during our peak season, which led to the issues you faced. We know this is no excuse and acknowledge that this fell short of the experience we strive to provide for our customers.

Missing product and very poor customer service

I recently purchased a number of items from Seraphine and was told these would be delivered on 27 August. Payment has been taken but the delivery date came and went with no parcel received. I then contacted customer services who said they would look into it and get back to me. However, I received no update and have had to chase several times each day to get any response. The response, when I do get one, is always 'we're contacting the warehouse and courier but have no update on your goods'.

I requested a replacement and this request was completely ignored. I then requested a refund and again, this request was completely ignored.

I am losing all hope of ever receiving these items or a refund of my payment and have today started the process of reporting Seraphine for fraud. I would urge people not to order from this company.
