Major part broken on brand new Stairlligt
I purchased the stairlift for my mother in July 2021. She went into hospital a week later and spent two weeks in hospital, returned home, and spent a further two weeks convalescing. The stairlift has hardly had more than four weeks of solid use, and it broke down. The engineer came last week fixed the problem and said that if it should happen again that it would need a new motherboard the stairlift broke down the very next day we phoned handicare and was told that they had to order a new computer system and the engineer will come out 3rd of November I have been calling religiously everyday explaining that my mum has hospital appointments that are crucial for her to attend. We cannot get her from upstairs. She has been confined for the last four days to the bedroom and toilet. We cannot get her downstairs, and most importantly, if there were to be a fire within the home, under no circumstances would we be able to get her out. I am appalled at the service. Was this a reconditioned stairlift? I wonder, as we paid for a brand new one, how can a motherboard become redundant with only four weeks worth of use. I will try to explain again today, 28/10/2021, that my mother is confined and unable to go to her hospital appointment tomorrow in the hope that I am not fobbed off again. Why have you not got a few boards in the house? You are dealing with the elderly more organisation is needed. If she did not have family nearby with keys, she would honestly starve to death.
