Excellent support and a significant problem resolved

I had an issue after upgrading Topaz Photo AI from 3.4.4 to 3.5 in that the rainbow spinner on my Mac started every time I tried to do anything within Topaz. It was unusable.

The support I received from Ange was excellent. Ange organised a Zoom call to help diagnose the issue and was very diligent in following up with her development team and keeping me informed via multiple emails as her investigation progressed.
Long story short, Ange identified it was an issue with my network proxy settings. When I turned off 'Auto Proxy Discovery' on the mac, which was affecting the ethernet connection, all worked ok and at full speed. I later discovered 3.5 onwards worked fine with wifi and no ethernet connection even with the proxy still enabled.

So to be clear, the issue was not with Topaz but due to the combination of a Virgin Media internet connection using Ethernet and an iMac with 'Auto Proxy Discovery' enabled.

I'm now on version 3.6 of Photo AI which is much faster now the proxy is turned off than 3.4.4. ever was!

Ange, thanks again for a great service which is becoming rarer by the day with other businesses out there. Your continued commitment to help was very much appreciated.

First Class service for over 20 years…

I’ve been with First Direct for over 20 years and have always received excellent service from them. Unlike every other company in the world, it seems, First Direct have maintained a level of service and respect for their customers that was commonplace some years ago. Other companies leave you in a queue for ages before you speak to someone, promise to call back and don’t etc etc.

It’s always an efficient and very pleasant experience on the phone with their well trained agents, which you know you can expect before you even pick up the phone.

Keep doing what you’re doing, it’s a first class service in a world of companies that forgot the key thing they now ignore, the reason they came into being….. because they had customers.

Very good web site that allowed me to…

Invoice no X686399
Very good web site that allowed me to enter the serial number of my Mac to determine which memory card options were available. I called to clarify a point and was helped by a (real) knowledgeable person without waiting in a queue. I paid for delivery by 1pm next day and it was delivered on time. No issues with the ‘Crucial’ memory installation, it worked as expected.

Excellent after sales support from Fabian

I bought Microsoft Office 2021 last year from Cheap Training. It was a good deal and very easy to install with no issues. One year on I couldn't save any word/excel or other MS documents as I was required to 'activate' the product for some reason. I clicked the activate button but it gave me an error that it could not load the 'Microsoft Helper'.
I called and spoke to Fabian who was so helpful and diligent and he found the complex solution really quickly. It did require me going into 'terminal' on my mac and typing in some lengthy command lines which I was happy to do. It was an obscure fix for him to have found but it worked straight away!
I had expected a very long drawn out issue that didn't really get to the bottom of it, but because of his interest and expertise the problem was solved.

I think this was caused as a result of upgrading my Mac OS to Sequoia 15.

If only all companies could offer such excellent support services I wouldn't always dread calling them!

A very good quality product at a…

A very good quality product at a reasonable price. Made precisely to size given to fit in a recess. Looks great.

I paid 10% extra for the ‘measure guard’ insurance and used it as I had mistakenly ordered an ‘exact’ measurement rather than a ‘recess’ fit which reduces the blind width to fit inside a recess. It was definitely worth the money and the blind was replaced at no additional cost within a week or so.

It’s the third blind I’ve bought from 247 and I’ll definitely buy from them again. Had a very poor experience with another company that I also reviewed and won’t be using again.

Wrong colour, wrong brackets, faulty mechanism with a faulty mechanism and holes in the fabric

Atom Pure White Double Roller Blind -

Blind provided with wrong brackets.
Pure white double roller blind ordered. The diffuser blind described as pure white was very obviously cream.

As the brackets for left and right were transposed (wrong way around - left bracket and right are different and can't be swapped to the other end). We were incorrectly told when we called to completely unroll both blinds and continue unrolling until they started to re-roll. This then meant that the reverse side of the black out blind (not meant to be seen) was facing forward and holes in the fabric across at least 8 inches at the bottom, were also visible.

The mechanism to operate the blind required a significant amount of pulling to raise or lower the blind and the mechanism skipped. The chain would certainly have broken in a short time of use.

The dual blind was therefore the wrong colour with the wrong brackets with a faulty mechanism and holes in the fabric. Very poor!

I declined a replacement blind as the quality was so poor and the quality checking on the manufacture was obviously non-existent. I asked for a full refund which thankfully was agreed without further discussion. The blind will therefore be consigned to the dustbin!

First class installation by Danny

First class installation by Danny
Appointment was made for next day installation. Olivia was very helpful and accommodating to schedule a second appointment at short notice, required because my wiring needed upgrading by an electrician before the install could be completed.

Danny was the installer who completed the work on both days. He was a pleasure to deal with and his work is very neat and tidy.

Overall a very good experience in a time when the quality of customer service generally has gone through the floor!

Go Compare is really quick & easy to…

Go Compare is really quick & easy to use and has the benefit of £250 towards any excess resulting from a claim when you buy the policy via their link to the insurer.

Would be 5 stars but.....

I would like to be able to print a summary of the information I have entered into the Go Compare website for future use. For example I put the value of the car I insured but it does not show up in the insurance company docs even though they were able to tell me the amount when I spoke to them. The insurance company should of course show that too!

Update 6/12/21- Ten days ago I got an email apologising for the delay and advising that management are looking into it. Must require senior management, perhaps a meeting of the board to fix this never before encountered issue of a download link not being issued! LMAO. Needless to say, no resolution or further contact received, as expected.

Original review follows:
One star is too generous when I consider the appalling customer service response when I purchased downloadable music that I can’t download. I didn’t receive a link to complete the download and notified Warner on 4th November. I’ve now sent 4 emails (by 18th Nov) and they have still not even had the courtesy to respond, let alone provide a solution. They just ignore my messages and obviously couldn’t give a damn about customer perception and experience.

In the last email I asked for a download link or a refund but they have just ignored me again.

I’d strongly recommend you avoid buying from them.

We’ve ordered from 247 Blinds on 2 occasions. The blinds are of very good quality and millimetre perfect in size. It arrived sooner than expected which was also appreciated I highly recommend the services of this company and will certainly use them again.

The sales assistant, Chris Osborn, was very helpful when we were choosing out carpet. She highlighted offers that we were otherwise unaware of that we could take up, and did. We’ve used Tapi before and will do so again because it’s a very different experience to most carpet shops we’ve used before. Staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. Thanks for the excellent service once again.

Excellent service

Excellent service, very efficient. My only problem was the limitation on the amount of text you can add. Obviously there has to be a limit but for a custom poem I’d had written, you can only have 3 verses of 4 lines so there was a bit of juggling with spaces to get it in. Will use the service again though.

Great products but disappointed to be charged for returning a £100 bench to replace it with a £300 one hence 4 stars instead of 5. New Bench. delivery and collection of the returned bench happened on the same Day but I had to pay for the courier!!

Quite expensive but very convenient for…

Quite expensive but very convenient for Gatwick North Terminal which is just across the road from the Hampton by Hilton hotel car park. Car dropped off within a couple of mins and arrived back 3-4 mins after I arrived at the collection point. Overall a very good service that I would use again if the price is competitive.

Top Quality Photo Book

I ordered the large landscape gloss photo book and the quality is very, very good. I’m really pleased with it. Ordered on a Sunday and it was delivered from Germany by Friday. I will order more. Well worth the money. A great present for someone.
