You delivered a day earlier than you…

You delivered a day earlier than you notified … so there was no one at home - I therefore requested delivery to a neighbour…. But you left the parcel on my front door step …!

It is very annoying

It is very annoying - you buy something online are then pestered to write a review. In a shop you just buy something and go home - no one chases you down the street asking you how well they did that day. They had it in stock - you needed it - so you bought it. Pretty simple really.

What a way to treat people .. !"

Price quoted on the telephone was not the price they wanted when I went to collect the car. According to the "Rental Advisor" ... "the computer always puts the prices up and there is nothing I can do - do you want the car or not".
Disgraceful company - but I suspect corporate customers who pick the car never see the paperwork and their accounts offices just pay the invoice.

The response to my post is not strictly true ... so I stand by my original posting.

Unfortunately, although our prices remain fairly static throughout the year they can fluctuate due to seasonal demand. This means that we cannot guarantee the price of a rental will remain the same when a quotation is given days apart. The branch have advised the initial rental was reserved and cancelled off. The rental was then required at a later date and the price had increased in correspondence to the demand. We do apologise for this inconvenience. We do advise all of our customers to book in advance to get the best rental price available. Stop pestering me for a review of checkatrade.

The chap who came to do the work was great and I was happy to give him a good review - but you keep pestering me for a review of checkatrade.
The work was done - now I just want to move on with my life for gods sake. It completely spoils the experience.

Mixed feelings about Appliance City ...

I would give Appliance City themselves FIVE stars - excellent telephone conversation when I ordered the dishwasher, good price and sensible delivery period.
However ... the carrier company / individual who made the "final mile" delivery was not a good advert. My home office overlooks the drive and I saw the (unsignwritten) van pull up and the driver drop the dishwasher out the back onto the ground (no tail lift ... !). He then wheeled it to the front door and rang the bell. When I arrived at the door and let him know I had seen him drop it on the ground he was already taking photos from all four sides. The response was " ... well, my photos will not show that" and with that he walked off.
I appreciate that Appliance City have no direct control over their third party contractors so I thought I would leave my comments to whenever I am asked to review their service and see if they contact me to discuss.
Update - Nick from Appliance City contacted me within 24 hours of my review - apologised and said that whilst the delivery driver was a third party he knew who he was and that they would have a conversation with him.
As I wrote at the start I would give Appliance City FIVE stars - they just to be more careful who they partner with maybe.
