Price quoted on the telephone was not the price they wanted when I went to collect the car. According to the "Rental Advisor" ... "the computer always puts the prices up and there is nothing I can do - do you want the car or not".
Disgraceful company - but I suspect corporate customers who pick the car never see the paperwork and their accounts offices just pay the invoice.
The response to my post is not strictly true ... so I stand by my original posting.

We are sorry to hear of your unfortunate experience in your recent rental with us. Unfortunately, although our prices remain fairly static throughout the year they can fluctuate due to seasonal demand. This means that we cannot guarantee the price of a rental will remain the same when a quotation is given days apart. The branch have advised the initial rental was reserved and cancelled off. The rental was then required at a later date and the price had increased in correspondence to the demand. We do apologise for this inconvenience. We do advise all of our customers to book in advance to get the best rental price available.
