Happy Landlord

I am a landlord and Mark of Letio helped me find fantastic tenants who have recently renewed their lease for another two years. They are now helping me with the day to day management and I find Nith and the team to be very responsive, even at weekends. I am on the whole really happy and glad I chose Letio as my letting agent.

End to my hunt for a plumber

I had been trying for months to find a plumber to install a new tap and had called about 13 plumbers without success. But within minutes of posting the job on My Builder I received not one but three replies by interested parties! Job was done quickly and well.

Awful Gas Safety Certificate "service".

I am a Landlord and my Openrent property No is 879084. I have been completely let down by my experience of booking a boiler service and gas safety certificate (compulsory by law) through Openrent. I decided to use them because apparently I could simply book an appointment online. It was far from it, making the appointment required two long phone calls and a couple of emails on my part. But the worst part was that I had to pay in advance but did not get any certificate from them. When the engineer turned up (on time), he immediately asked where the switch for the gas is in the property. My son was there but did not know. No one had ever asked us before in 25 years of renting out this property. The engineer promptly walked out and that was that. So now I had to make more phone calls and am waiting for Openrent to call me back just in the hope of getting my money back. And I will have to go back to property, which is very inconvenient, for the gas safety certificate with a different company.
A truly awful experience, waste of time and money. Beware!

Our gas safety suppliers successfully carry out thousands of checks each year, nationwide. We carefully monitor all feedback to ensure that our landlords are receiving the 5* service that they expect. The supplier who attended your appointment has worked with us for many years and has an average rating of 4.7*.

We understand that it can be frustrating when an appointment can't go ahead and our engineers will always make every possible effort to resolve any issues on the day. However, we are unable to guarantee that an engineer can remain at a property if they don't have the necessary information to complete their checks.

Long distance design

I went to Sarah of the Kensington Branch in London to help me design a kitchen for my second home in Scotland. I only had some architect drawings of the available space. Despite Sarah not having a chance to see the place for herself, the result is very pleasing and exceeds my expectations. When there was something missing from the kitchen delivery at first, the Kensington office very quickly and efficiently rectified the problem. However, my kitchen was not installed by Magnet, so I cannot comment on the installation.

An efficient estate agent with the personal touch.

I recently decided to buy a holiday home in the Scottish Borders, but I only had a couple of weekends to view prospective properties. Arranging appointments through traditional estate agents to view several properties in a single afternoon proved difficult, because each of them promised to call me back after speaking to the owners and in many cases this took one or two days. So I was very relieved when I realised that I could simply and instantly book an appointment online for my desired time slot for those properties marketed by Purplebricks and in some cases this led to my viewing a Purplebricks property rather than one marketed by another agent which could potentially have been of the same interest to me. My satisfaction with Purplebricks did not end there. When I returned to London on Sunday night after a weekend of viewings, I was pleasantly surprised to find that Purplebricks agent Ira Johnston had already sent me a pleasant and personal email with some additional information about a property in Galashiels which I had viewed on the Saturday. When I decided a few days later to make an offer for that property, I was again pleasantly surprised that Ira invariably replied to my frequent emails and queries quickly and competently. This led to my offer being accepted after just a few days of negotiation with the sellers. After my experience, I would strongly recommend Purplebricks to both sellers and buyers in the Borders.
