A little dissapointed

A little dissapointed. I would have hoped the online search / enquiry would have identified unavailability of the EPC & floorplan in my area before I had to create an account and a payment was taken.

A few days after arranging this service online and making payment which was processed, I received an email advising of unavailability.

Now awaiting for my payment to be returned and as always, we pay and it is immediate but up to 5 workibg days if you would like payment returned

I completely understand how frustrating it must have been to create an account, make a payment, and only then be informed that the service wasn’t available in your area. This is certainly not the experience we want for any of our customers.

Please rest assured that a full refund was issued on 1st September. Depending on your bank, it may take 3–5 working days for the funds to appear in your account. We truly appreciate your patience while this processes.

Great service

Initial uncertainty re this site as I had not used or heard of them before & their price was the cheapest. One of the reviews mentioned being part of Expedia. I took a gamble (but paid on credit card). Anyway, Holiday Inn, Lancaster booked (1 x night) for £91 (the cheapest being offered). Confirmation email was immediate, although I did have fingers crossed that the site was ligit and that I had not lost £91. Arrived at the hotel, room booking confirmed by reception staff. Best price offered and overall very happy with the service

ROME (FCO) airport transfer

ROME (FCO) airport transfer.

We booked 'round trip' private transfers. On the day of departure from the UK I updated the company re our late departure from NCL UK, now arriving FCO at 21:00hrs. On final approach to landing at FCO, the aircraft was forced to abort the landing, climbing again and re joining a new flight circuit before making another attempt to land. We landed at 21:30 before one of the longest aircraft taxi rides from the runway to a terminal (at least 10 minutes). My wife had been suffering with migraine and was quite unwell by this stage. We eventually joined a huge, never ending, snaking queue to border / passport control. 90 minutes queuing!!! A small amount of passport / border control staff were operating. A row of big red electronic crosses were displayed above all closed desks. Eventually having passed through security at 23:03hrs we went straight to the transfers area having only taken hand luggage. Our name was displayed on a paper note, but no driver. I contacted suntransfers and they said the spoke to the driver, he had tried to contact me but because I had not answered my phone, he left and said he would not return. I explained the situation re an aborted landing resulting in a continuation of the flight, the lengthy trip from runway to terminal and the totally unacceptable but unavoidable delay caused by Italian passport control. I also reminded them that I had advised re late arrival. The driver would not return, so we joined another queue for a taxi and paid €50 to Rome city. My wife was quite ill with migraine and only wanted to lay quietly in a bed.

On return to the UK, I was refunded for the above leg of the transfer with an apology stating an administrative error. It caused additional stress and upset to the day and an even later arrival at our hotel. No offers of compensation just an apology and refund.

The return transfer did turn up and was on time.

The approx cost for a return private transfer with this company was €148. Outside of the terminal are large amounts of liveried, approved taxi's all clearly displaying the costs of journeys. A huge board at the queue area displays the same.

€50 to Rome city. €50 Rome city to FCO. A saving of €48 compared to that of suntransfers. The time in a queue is short due to the number of taxis.

Thank you re emissions claim

Several years ago now I approached this company in relation to a vehicle that I had purchased and the subsequent media report re an emissions scandal.

Throughout the entire process Leigh Day kept me updated re processes, legal proceedings and timely updates re every aspect of my claim.

Thankfully the process / litigation has now come to a successful conclusion and a settlement made for my claim and that of many others.

I am not a huge fan of solicitors, your fees / billing etc can put even well paid individuals off seeking legal assistance but on this occasion you have been exceptional.

A 'no win, no fee' with a successful conclusion and full transparency throughout has been greatly appreciated.

Thank you for all of the hard work & long hours that you have contributed to this case that we as claimants will not have seen.

Thank you for your help and thank you for my settlement.

Most of all, thank you for legally pointing out the 'error of their ways' used by large corporate companies against loyal long standing members of the public who may have used their vehicles & services for many years.

Horrendous service

I recently parked, as always on private land (a car park) located on Strand Street, Whitehaven, Cumbria.

Parking is provided by ipark services and is one of the most reasonably priced in the town, hence repeat custom by myself.

On the 3rd June I parked, entered my registration into the machine (which was displayed on screen), paid a very reasonable £1.50 and printed my ticket placing it on the dashboard of my car.

I went into town, later returning to my car and left the car park within one hour.

The following week I received a parking notice from i park services and a request to pay £60 for non payment of parking charges!

I found my parking ticket and on checking it it displayed the registration details (in part) different to those entered into the machine and different to those it displayed on screen BUT I had paid for parking.

My ticket showed the first part of another vehicle registration PX13 followed by the first part of my registration, PT11.

I made an appeal using the company i park services mention in their letter.

I wrote to the company attaching a copy of the ticket. It clearly showed the first part of my registration printed on the ticket as shown on a photo and detail from the car parks ANPR.

It demonstrated a payment for parking as I always have done on this and every car park.

I wrote a nicely worded appeal and asked if the machine maybe had a fault?

I demonstrated that a payment had been made and that their ANPR showed a photograph of my car detailing the first part of my registration as shown on my £1.50 parking ticket.

Appeal denied!!! They said I should have checked the ticket printing.

The machines display screen showed my registration in full as I typed and subsequently checked it.

Never before in 40 years of driving / parking have I encountered this problem.

I have owned a cherished number plate for 11 years. I have entered the full detail into machines throughout this period without error.

I later read Trust Pilot reviews on i park services, the appeal company that it mentions and then other appeal companies like POPLA who receive funding from other car park associations. Horrendous!! Especially in this instance i park services and the appeal service!

They rely on the financial pressure imposed on individuals from all walks of life, not knowing their financial positions or abilities to seek and pay for legal advice. By sending letters requesting money or more money if you fail to pay within 2 weeks or other 'neccessary' actions they force you into making a payment, in effect a fine even though you have paid for services and shown this by photographic evidence.

Strand Street, Whitehaven. If you are a local land owner in the area, in the first instance thank you for providing reasonable parking prices / durations in comparison to other car parks in the area.

Secondly - you should be totally ashamed of yourself. Initially I thought your prices were reasonable BUT I take back everything I said in praise of your services.

You are now the most expensive car park I have ever encountered!! £61.50 for one hour parking. Shameful!!!

My father in law (80 years of age) experienced similar problems within the last month.

You did the same to him, an 80 year old pensioner who always pays from pension a parking fee!

DISGUSTING!

Try and contact this company - its not easy. If you appeal and speak to customer services - they won't speak to you!

It might only be 4 regular customers you lose on this one occasion but never the less, you have lost them, mistreat them and shown no real consideration of any loyalty, evidence or appeal.

If I could have selected no stars I would have!

Christmas day surprise for my wife

I wanted to surprise my wife with a lovely diamond eternity ring during a Jamaican Christmas holiday booked for this year (2022).

My wifes engagement & wedding rings are joined and I found two designs on the PD's web site that I hoped would be a perfect fit allowing me to maintain the element of surprise.

The web site is very clear and advises you that the rings would sit perfectly with other rings for which they were designed.

PD's were very good during communication with myself which included photographs of both wedding & engagement rings which were originally purchased from other jewellers.

They sent two designs in silver for me to try with my wifes rings which was fortunate. One of the rings was close to a perfect fit however, as it was not perfect it helped me in a decision to look at a standard design of eternity ring that would fit on another finger and maintain the element of surprise.

When I was looking through the various pages & jewellery designs I also found another ring (diamonds and a semi precious stone) and a lovely neclace with a diamond pendant.

I now have 3 lovely items of jewellery from PD's all of which are beautiful.

The two rings are beautifully delicate in design and I cannot wait to surprise my wife on Christmas day with these and a white gold bracelet.

I am confident that I will again be purchasing jewellery from purely diamonds for my wife and two beautiful Grand daughters.

Does garage corrugated roof contain asbestos

I needed to know if the corrugated roof of my garage contained asbestos before I removed it. I knew a contractor would charge more than £39 to do the same job as this company so the decision was easy.

The kit arrived VERY quickly after the order.
The results and service were of the same efficiency.

I would recommend without hesitation.

Review of Bensons For Beds

Great overall service

Staff could not have been any more helpful. Viewed two stores 50 miles apart amongst other local family run businesses and ended back at Bensons spending £1500.

Bed arrival date is the 17th July, so if that arrives on time and assembly by Bensons staff is as agreed, I have no hesitation in recommending this company, its beds and the service received
