When i was selecting the VC …

When i was selecting the VC policy...nowhere it mentioned that you need the insurance number form your previous country to take the benefit of the "Low Price" policy, but instead, after spending time on filling up the form, it gave me the error that it needs the existing insurance number without which they will not allow us to buy that policy. So finally I had to go with the high price policy (which was not different then the cheaper one)

Hello Kshatriya,

Visitors insurance is for any new medical conditions that may arise during your trip and we highly recommend purchasing a policy prior to embarking on your travels to avoid any discrepancies with benefits. Not all insurance policies satisfy all of the conditions for every customer and it is practically impossible to present all of the conditions before the beginning of the application. In your specific situation, it is the business logic behind the application that requires a previous policy. During the purchasing process, each policy has its own individual terms and conditions which are noted at the top of the applications and it is very important to read these terms and conditions before filling out the application to ensure that you are eligible. It seems that you may have been trying to purchase a policy after a month of arriving in the country and there are certain restrictions in these cases. In order to purchase a policy after a month of arriving in the U.S., you are required to provide the insurance company with previous insurance information.
