This is very much a good/bad review and experience from a large reputable dealership when buying a brand new car.
The sales process for buying a car was very good, with quick responses to questions, a good selection of cars to test drive or look over, all you need to make your decision, it was one of my better dealership involvements over many years of buying cars.
Collection day was a different matter and this is where I felt the whole feelgood experience fell apart. The car was to have a small repair made then a full detail and finish beforehand. I checked prior to travelling approx 1hr that it was all complete, which I was told it was and a video sent to me, but on arrival the standard of finish was poor.
Clearly no one made a proper check of the car, yes it was mainly clean but small details were overlooked. It has to be re-polished in places to take out scratches and marks etc. Parts ordered were incomplete so accessories couldn't be fitted and the repair finished poorly on closer inspection. I was there for 4 hours for a normal 30min handover.
I would have, at that stage, walked away from the car as it hadn't been fully registered to me. Price is no guarantee of quality but, unlike other dealerships I've used in the past, the dealership manager didn't hide away in his office, he came out and spent time trying to sort things. It couldn't all be sorted on the day, but assurances were made, with some going beyond what I was expecting.
It's not all resolved yet however, hence the 3 stars, so the next week or so will be key for me as to whether I keep the car, use them again or recommend them in the future.
