I booked through Rentalcars a car for UK (collection point Heathrow Airport) for approx 5 week period in September 2016, but the hire package only included Third Party insurance cover. I requested Rental cars to quote me for upgrading insurance to Full Comprehensive level but got an email back stating I will have to arrange that through the Car rental company(Eurpocar). I bought the required insurance upgrade online through an independent company. When I went to collect the vehicle, Europcar informed me that they will not allow me to take the car out of their premises without full CDW cover and that they do not accept insurance cover from independent sources !!! and I have to use their insurance source and the charge would be 25 GB Pounds per day!! An Absolute rip off. Obviously I cancelled the booking and took my business elsewhere, at great inconvenience to me. When I rang Rentalcars and asked for a refund for the cancellation, they held on to 3 days rental charge and only refunded the balance. This indicates what a rip-off company Rentalcars is. Their package forces the customer buy insurance at an exorbitant price at the rental desk. Another Dishonest company which rips off people. My recommendation is, don't ever buy a Rentalcars package for the UK. They are in cahoots with the car rental companies to rip off people who hire in UK. Obviously their offers for rental from other countries also require close scrutiny.
Come on Rental cars if you are an honest Business you will make full refund instead of the partial refund. If you are an honest outfit you need to offer a complete package without any hidden EXTRAS (Rip off extras at that).
