Vividstorm screens questionable quality

We bought the vividstorm 100 inch projector screen in June for £1390. We had a vertical wrinkle appearing on the left side of the screen in August. The manufacturer advised several things and one of them was put the screen out in the sun for several hours. Anyway, it didn’t work. After several exchanges of email, I had the screen replaced with a new screen in November. This one is problematic from the start with the screen not being flat on the edges. So the resulting imaged warped on both edges.

Based on our experience the pros and cons are:

Pros: The delivery was fast. Mark and Diane Browne of 4K projectorscreens were always prompt with their replies. He promptly put me in touch with the manufacturer. When we were dissatisfied with both screens they took both screens away without any cost for us and also gave us a full refund.

Cons:
a) Vividstorm screen lacks quality control checks.
b) Vividstorm customer service is very patchy and you need to constantly track it.
c) Whilst Vividstorm replaced the screen with a new one, when I reported the problem with the video evidence, the reply from vividstorm, the manufacturer was we don’t know how it happened.
d) 4k Projectorscreens took quite a while to collect the projector screens and give a refund, I feel that this process could have been dealt with more promptly.

I hate to post a negative review

I hate to post a negative review. Please STOP asking for a review until the furniture has been delivered. Our furniture is not due to be delivered until April...that is 2 months away.

Joined Simplehuman fan club

We had a 58L dual compartment rectangular pedal bin for 5 years and 7 days precisely. Last Sunday, the hinge snapped and 4 days later I had a new bin delivered.

I didn't know the bin was under 10 year warranty and I was hoping for a spare part, not a new bin....Wow! excellent service and a brilliant company.

PS: I hate throwing things away if they can be repaired and reused. Unfortunately I can't find any spares for the broken part on their website. It would be great if the spares are readily available.

Aftersale experience

First, I would like to thanking Victoria Findlay, new home site coordinator for being calm and collected when listening to our problems and sending workmen out to fix things quicker and more efficiently once we brought things to her attention.

We also happen to meet
Painter & Decorator Lee Goulden from Trinity last week and
Plumbers Matthew and Rhys from Heatshield today. They were polite and skilled workers, easy to talk to and they did their jobs to our satisfaction.

You may wonder WHY 4 stars then? - DWH says response time is within 3 working days. However our experience since April this year is weeks. On this occasion, there seems to be some problem with sending video attachments ( it looks like got blocked by the server) and staff illness. May I recommend adjusting automated replies accordingly.

I'm impressed with the fast one day delivery (even though my address is not on the map). I left a voice message on their phone and they got back to me promptly. Communication is good.

The SERVICE COULD BE IMPROVED by provided customers with tracking information.

Allen Bradey explained clearly the…

Allen Bradey explained clearly the scope of their work. His team has created a work of art on our concrete floor and they do a special dance when they install the pipe into the grooves, it is entertaining. I wish I recorded it LOL.

Certainly they are the Pros when it comes to UFH on the concrete.

My only GRIPE is narrow scope. You need to find our own plumber and electrician to complete the project.

Moving on

Re: Plot 148, Hassal road, Alsager.

After my review "the midnight review" last Saturday, we got a prompt response from the DWH sales team the next day. We had a meeting with Grace Griffiths and Carol Ridgeway. They listened to our concerns and offered us a solution. Whilst it is not the outcome we were hoping for, we settled with the next best option of getting some photographs for our house at different stages. Thank you for all your reassurance and best efforts to put our minds at rest and helping us to move on in life. Once again thank you for the photos. We hope to see some photos every month. I hope this is a reasonable request.

The Midnight Review

Plot 148 Hassal Road, Scholars Place, Alsager

We reserved a plot in the second week of March and last week we secured the mortgage as well. We have been requesting the sales office at Scholars place to give us a glimpse of our future home numerous times directly and indirectly hinting via email. Unfortunately we had no luck so far and yesterday we were given a reason for the first time - health safety concern. We too take the health and safety seriously. We are not going to venture out onto a build site on our own are we? I'm sure we will be accompanied by some one who knows the site very well. My wife and I are in our early 40s and we are sensible people with children we are willing to follow the safety instructions of the site for mere 5mins to look at the property from the road side or from a safe distance. We are not even planning to take the kids with us. Anyway request denied. We were told, maybe in July, we may get to see it - by then it would look completely different, would it not?

Honestly, how often anyone get to see their house being built? It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for many of us and we want to make the most of it. As a customer I wish to see the shell of the house before it is fully built. We are capturing a moment in our time witnessing the birth of our house, we would NEVER get that opportunity ever again. Basically, seeing the plot for the first time would make us happy, a simply pleasure in life during these tough time. Is that something bad to expect considering the price of the property? Is it an unreasonable request these days to see the plot before we fully commit to buying it?

The biggest thing is to secure the mortgage which we have managed to get it done successful. We are supposed to be happy but we are not. Buying a house is the biggest purchase in most of our lives. Sadly, this purchase has left us with some doubts in our heads…why are they are not letting us visit the plot? Is it more than just health safety..?

What we would like to do - visit the plot, make the deposit, exchange contracts and move on. We would be grateful if the someone from DWH could look into this and help us please.


PS: It is the road that we don’t want to take. Honestly I don’t want to write a bad review. I’m pushed to do so, I’m sorry!. I will update my review if my experience changes.

POOR SERVICE

Order no: #100149707

I placed the above order on the Wednesday 17th June. Given the current pandemic I have been patient for over a week. I had no explanation from them why my order is being delayed.

On the website my order is still being processed for over a week now.

Messaging -I left a message yesterday morning through the chat box, had no reply so far.
Live chat - it is a joke. The option for a live chat is disabled.
Phone - Rang them yesterday, nobody replied.
Email - Emailed them yesterday - no reply yet


This is my first order with them and I’m having a frustrating experience. It looks like I have been robbed.

Could you please give me an update on the dispatch date?

PS: I debated with myself for couple days before I could leave such a review.
