This is an absolutely awful company

This is an absolutely awful company. I was introduced to them by another person having his conservatory roof converted and it was going ok so I invited Bill Glover round to look at mine, bit of high pressure sales later ( I need an order while I’m here or a repeat visit will be more expensive) anyway I ordered after advising him I have a box gutter and he replied no worries 70% of our jobs have box gutters. The bank initially wouldn’t release my deposit as they said we flag companies we have had issues with ( I should have cancelled the order then! ) we then had some incompetent fitters who are on cctv saying there’s going to be major leaks inside! The operatives are not employees but sub contractors, despite being told they were directly employed. First rainfall we had water literally pouring in… filling a gorilla tub in 15 minutes! They made visits to resolve but they basically didn’t have a clue what they were doing! It was trial and error, I suggested lining the box gutter and actually bought the liner myself and they then said they were going to do something else! An hour later they said they couldn’t do what they wanted to do and wanted to fit the liner again! They did and it still leaks. The water is also pouring through one of the outside lights they installed under the soffit, so the fitter put silicon all around the edge of the light… it’s an absolute bodge. I then found out the person who had recommended them also had a leaking roof too! Bill Glover has said on numerous occasions ‘Don’t worry we’ll sort it for you’ but they clearly do not have the competency! Now they’ve reverted to telling lies and failing to attend and I really feel sorry for any customers considering them hence this review and for me I’ve started legal proceedings! Don’t find yourself in this position… get accredited company to do your work… Check FENSA

Review of The Sofa Shop

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Sort the delivery service out!

2nd time I’ve used the Sofa shop and the first time the delivery service wasn’t good and the sofa shop took some steps to address this. But the cinema sofa I purchased is good and I thought I’d buy ones for my son as he moved in his new flat. Perfect call with salesman, they had one left as they’d stopped producing and he arranged deliver. I paid extra to take it up the 2 flights of stairs and assembly. Got the confirmation emails for delivery and my son had the day off work today to take delivery. Then for the second time the delivery service let me down! Call this morning on day of delivery saying it was damaged in transit and they’d arrange for another one to be sent tomorrow (Saturday) I knew this was a lie as the salesman had already told me it was the last one. Then I got a text and email confirming delivery tomorrow, then later I got another call saying they couldn’t do it as they needed three men and it would have to be next week and in that call he mentioned a breakdown? Just be honest ffs! I said we can make up the third man to help and they agreed delivery was back on, then an hour later they said we couldn’t help and it would have to be Monday ( with my son in work this wasn’t an option) so I had to call around to get three people and they then said they’d drop it at the kerb… bloody useless actually

Review of Outfox Energy

Regret using Outfox

I switched to Outfox Energy after using a comparison site as I’ve done many times previously. This rates were attractive and to be honest the supplier is irrelevant UNLESS you actually need to interact with them and unfortunately I did. The response to emails was poor and I had to chase them to try and get a response to something I’d already told them I had a deadline for. Finally they advised me it would be circa £300 to install an Isolator when other providers provide this service free of charge? I told them it would be cheaper to pay the extortionate £150 exit fee and go to Octopus! The customer Service Agent agreed with me so I did! Really sorry I used this company and, as always, cheapest isn’t always best!

Review of Armstrong Cheshire

Great range but delivery is expensive

It was so easy to order the items, a great range and cutting service, so I managed to find all the items I needed and I thought Wow that was easier then expected… it was a couple of sheets of 8x4 18mm ply with cuts, some battens and a small window sill. All good until I was at the checkout and saw delivery £70! If they do multiple drops I’m not sure how this is justified? Anyway went to another supplier and paid £40 delivery

NO NO NO!

NO NO NO! Don’t do it… After a year of good service with TalkTalk I switched to Sky Broadband today after seeing one of their ‘deals’ and it is absolutely awful! Text saying you’re all good to go, but it doesn’t work! You cant speak to someone because they send you round and round in circles using their self help in the App… I’m hoping that the 14 Day cooling off period is from the Switch date and I’ve already been back to TalkTalk with a red face asking if I can switch back! Cheapest is never the Best!

I’ve used Confused quite a bit over the years but not very impressed with the latest reward options, specifically the Sainsburys e-gift card which clearly states it can be used online! After messing around for 20 minutes it turns out they do not accept the voucher online, but reply with ‘GREAT NEWS YOU CAN STILL USE IT INSTORE’ so when you then order the item for collection in store it asks you to pay first.., but obviously won’t accept the e-gift card? Leaves you feeling a little duped! Select an alternative reward!

Broadband - Probably the Worst Service in the World

Broadband - Cheap, but very very nasty! Cut my service off in error and will not communicate or advise any updates on restoration, a number of emails to customer service and members of the Executive team (Ed Kamm, Alexander Constatine, Tony Keeling, Andy Davies) have been ignored! now 7 days and counting without a Broadband service and no idea when it will be restored.. Take my advice - DO NOT USE
Update 22 Aug. Readers should be insulted by the reply received from Sara at Shell Energy as this is their attempt to fool you into believing they are not the company I’ve portrayed… this was for your benefit! You’d think the numerous emails to the Exec team and the review on here would actually provoke them into making contact. 12 days without a Broadband service and still no contact! This is as bad as it gets from any ‘service’ provider!

Poor Service

Well I’ve used Toolstation before but on this occasion it was a bit of a disaster! Late delivery and then an item going missing, advised they couldn’t find it and couldn’t refund til it turned up? When I pressed them in the store and disputed what I was being told, the item was suddenly found? Poor communication, lack of process or possibly training. Whatever… not a good customer experience

It was clear there would be a huge take up to access the 1921 census and I think you could have made it clearer ( perhaps this was deliberate? ) that subscribing did not give access to the census records. You quickly refunded my money, for which I’m grateful, and I purchased the required records individually.. that part worked very well, although navigating a record using a Mac was a bit clunky!

First class service from Kelly and Carrie! Great help from start to finish, even called Kelly on Sunday morning to make sure screwing into the shower tray was correct! Agree instructions are not good if a 1st time DIYer is installing but it’s all fairly intuitive! One improvement from me is to provide angled tap connectors for the rear shower bar connections so you can slide the unit closer to the wall... I bought some myself for £3. Shower looks and works great!

Review of We Want Any Car .com

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Unscrupulous Practice - move over Double Glazing Sales!

Fist time ( and last ) customer. Initial offer was fair in line with trade, car in excellent condition, well looked after, 4 recent tyres, service and MOT last month, even threw in my private plate. I was fairly cynical about this service, but a dealer who looked over my car said there was nothing that they could 'chip away' at the offered price, so I was fairly sure the guide price wouldn't be too far away. Wrong! You definately sense these guys are trained to look for any excuse ( I can almost see the training session appearing on watchdog with a hidden camera! ) Anyway out came the highly technical ( and I assume regularly calibrated ) paint thickness tester, the guy promptly dropped it on the floor and it went into pieces! Once he'd reassembled...you guessed it, he found the passenger door and wing had been sprayed at some time ( not during my tenure of over a year ) and yes he'd need to drop the price by £700, after consulting on the phone with his manager ( Remember that old double glazing sales trick? ) I'd seen enough and collected my things when he chirps up the old...if it begins with X are you interested? No he'd lost my interest ( and trust ) with the initial tactics... So I wouldn't use on principle. Scam is strong but it doesn't seem to be a very transparent approach to business. Value car high to get you in and get the guys to exploit the deal using the carefully honed sales tricks. As we know, everyone buying a used car now carries a paint thickness detector and if you find one ( I guess 90% of cars ) that has had some paintwork done, ask the retailer for £700 off!
