Gravel board missing from order

I ordered a fence panel, 2 packs of connectors and a gravel board. Happy with the quality of the products that were delivered although rather disappointed that the gravel board was not delivered. The order confirmation had it on and it should have been. The driver reordered it for me although when it will arrive I don't know. I wanted to get the job done this week.

1. pricing system is not transparent. I got quotes from ads on Gumtree which came out at around £195 for my move. The Anyvan quote was £138 so I obviously booked them. 2 days before my move I realised there were 4 more items I had forgotten about (2 lamps, a smallish bureau desk and a trunk) and added them to the list online and the price jumped up out of all proportion to £206 (the £138 was for 44 items (ranging from big to small) so I assumed 4 more would not cost a great deal more. I did a cheeky test and cancelled the 4 items and just added 1 small item and the price jumped £60 for just 1 small item!!
2. bad estimate of timing and lack of communication. The website advertises a dedicated move coordinator so my expectation was of a good level of communication. On my email confirming the booking it advised I would be contacted the day before the move with a time the van would arrive. By 5:30pm the day before no-one had contacted me so I rang the driver and he advised a time slot of between 11am and 1pm. The next day this time slot came and went (no phone cal from anyone) so I called the driver at 1:30 to be advised he was on another job which wouldn’t finish until 3pm. He said he would call then and let me know an arrival time. He did actually call at 2:50pm and said he’d likely be with me at 4pm. 4pm came and went and he finally arrived at 4:45pm. He didn’t call again to advise me that he wouldn’t make 4pm. There was no apology or reason offered for the lateness. As for the dedicated move coordinator I never heard from him or her once.

The driver and his mate were polite and loaded my things carefully so that was good but outweighed by the lack of price transparency and the poor communication and lateness. Once I arrived at the new house I had to clean the bedroom etc and setup my bed so finally got to sleep around 2am instead of the expected 9/10pm. They don’t seem to be bothered that you have a schedule to keep!

If you only have a limited number of items to move and aren’t bothered about time then maybe this company is alright. For a house move where it’s difficult to give an exact number of items initially and there is usually a timescale to keep to as was my experience then definitely don’t use!

Thank you for your review.

After looking at your listing, I can see that the changes to your inventory were made after a transport provider was already allocated and due to the changes, he had to deallocate himself as he could not facilitate the additional items.

As the transport providers work on a part-load basis, it means that the transport providers may make multiple collections during a route which means each cubic metre of space is accounted for. Not only does this mean we can offer a more competitive price, it means that we are working towards our eco mission of reducing our carbon footprint as much as possible.

As I'm sure you can appreciate, there are many different factors that go into our pricing structure, of which we cannot disclose on a public forum.

We consistently ask the transport providers to ensure they are keeping customers fully informed of their ETA and any expected delays so we are very sorry that this did not happen. This is something that will be passed on to our Transport Team so they can address the provider on this.

Good value and ethical company...not convinced with the signal

I was really impressed to find such a great deal and an ethical company who contributes 10% of the bill to charity. I have had no issues with the service I’ve received - SIM card was sent efficiently, online billing is clear and easy to use. Although I seemed to be charged the first month’s line rental when I applied for the SIM and again when I activated the SIM so I assumed it was some kind of deposit. Have to say the signal isn’t always great and I often have a problem with mobile data - websites failing to load.

Poor value and no customer service

I am a landlord who lives abroad and when my new tenants reported some issues the agent advised they had tasked Aspect to sort them out. There were 3 call references raised: 413397, 413376 and 413374.

I don't mind paying over the odds for a great service but paying over the odds for the service I got was unacceptable. I won't go into details here as it would take a lot of words and I don't want to waste any more of my time on this.

I have since employed someone else to finish off some of the work they said they would come back to do and this is what my tenants wrote to tell me about the NEW contractor "...he also seems like a very genuine, knowledgable and helpful guy. The complete opposite to those supplied by Aspect!"

The website says of complaints by email "we will always acknowledge your complaint within the next 5 business days". I wrote to complain on the 18th of October and am still waiting for the acknowledgement (today is the 26th).

Any company that doesn't value it's customers isn't worth bothering with. I will certainly be voting with my feet and will never use them again.

difficult. As you have pointed out your managing agent booked these works. We were provided with an extensive list of works to carry out and these were booked on our half hourly rate. The managing agent arrived approximately two hours into the visit and requested that the engineer leave as the substantial works required in order to complete were not authorised​.
