Overall, this move went well. On time and swiftly done. The packing was thorough as before but a broken button back chair leg and broken picture glass left me with the impression this crew were quite not as careful as the first one in early 2024.
That said, each member was courteous and very helpful making sure each item was in the place we designated. When something needed moving to a different place, no problem. It was done immediately.
These breakages happen and we would be happy to use and recommend Bournes again.

We have driven past Nkuku many times without realising the gems contained in the barns! The staff are outstanding and very knowledgeable and the products interesting for those seeking difference and quality for their home.

An excellent but brief article to remind us of the Government’s shortsighted decision in changing the Winter Fuel Allowance in such a draconian fashion. I agree that those with a reasonable income in their old age should be exempted from the payments but so many rely on the Allowance to supplement their escalating heating bills.
I wonder if the cost of the surge in Pension Credit applications will exceed the projected cost saving of the Winter Fuel Allowance? If so, another own goal from HMG.

A very easy experience with clear instructions.

4 x 1 ton builders bags were delivered instead of a small skip as our driveway was too narrow for the the delivery truck. A good alternative.
I am waiting for a call back to understand how the filled bags will be collected as they will be well inside the property and not able to be removed unless on a small truck/pick up. I am not filling the bags until I am confident they can collected.

A welcoming smile and informative tour of the show house from Claire left us with a great impression of Hayfield.
We did decide the development was not for us but the help response to our visit was excellent.
And the show house itself? Firstly the house was furnished well but the rooms were small and cramped in our opinion. The impression we had was the house design was trying to punch above its weight, including dining and dressing areas which could have been put to better use. The stairs were steep, twisted and unsuitable for elderly people we felt!
In summary, full marks for sales and marketing, average for house build.

Roberto arrived on time having called ahead. He then analysed our system and found 2 very small leaks which were mended. One in the roof tank, the other in a toilet cistern.
