Review of Dobbies Garden Centres

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

A poor relation to the other Dobbies…

A poor relation to the other Dobbies sites and quickly going downhill.
To access the toilets, you have to walk through the "dog friendly" area of the restaurant as some of the rest of the area was cordoned off - Constant yapping and barking dogs which was very off putting to the extent that several people walked straight out. (and I'm a dog owner!) One dog owning couple walked along the food aisle, choosing their meals WITH their dog - Not a single staff member asked them to remove the dog from the actual food area - How hygienic (NOT)
Huge queue to order food so a staff member asked that all food be ordered by the till instead of at the counters. 12.35pm and I asked what the soup of the day was only to be told it had all gone but I could "wait about an hour and there will be some more" .
Seriously? Staff had already taken the rest of the food order, so where they really expecting me to sit there while the rest of my party ate their food and then wait until my food was ready? - I ended up with nothing rather than have to go back down the line of waiting customers to see if there was anything else I might want to eat (there wasn't I already knew that, that's why I wanted the soup)
Waitrose fridges downstairs were empty and the outside garden area is covered with leaves. Paving slabs are so uneven signs are everywhere but you can't see where it's uneven due to the leaf cover.
Despite visiting often over the years, this store is now one to avoid

Like many before me I've received an odd package

Like many before me, I too have received a jiffy bag - Mine contained two small rectangles of fake leather. I'd read something previously online about a scam called 'scalping' - Not allowed to add the weblink but you can google 'Empty Package Scalping' and you'll see what it's all about. Seems like OneWorldExpress are on the sticky end of this scam as they are being targeted to deliver these bogus packages. Mine originally came from Orange Connex and was then relabelled with OneWorldExpress stickering.

Review of The Naked Marshmallow Co.

Huge disappointment

This was a gift from my husband as he knows how much I love marshmallows.
The flavours however were dire.
Mini choc chip tasted like mouthwash and left a distinct nose clearing after effect, almost like an extra strong mint. The gingerbread flavour was the worst, a chemical like scent like contact adhesive and hardly and gingerbread taste at all.
The other flavours were just bland
So disappointing - really wouldn't recommend this at all

Hello Susan,

Thank you so much for your review and I am truly sorry to hear this.

I have checked our enquires over the past couple of weeks and can’t see that you have been in touch directly so I would urge you to do so to allow us an opportunity to put this right.

It sounds like the foil sheet has not been sufficiently bonded to the Advent tray and has subsequently caused a quality issue.

Please do get in touch with us by emailing hello@nakedmarshmallow.co.uk or by calling 01522 701 630. (Lines open 9am-4:30pm Monday to Friday)

Once again, please accept my sincere apologies for this and we look forward to hearing from you in due course.

Kind Regards, The Naked Marshmallow Co.

If I could give this "service" zero …

If I could give this "service" zero stars I would:
My mother died suddenly in July 2017 4 days before we were due to travel so for obvious reasons our holiday was cancelled.
To add insult to injury, we were unfortunate enough to have purchased this policy
1. The claim was submitted and the death certificate returned after 6 weeks with nothing more than a one line letter
2. We chased the claim by telephone and e.mail with promises to return our calls and e.mails - nothing happened.
3. We received a letter on 11th October DATED 18th September asking for my mother's GP to stamp his medical certificate. all was returned and we heard nothing
4. We chased up the claim and received no response
5. 4th December 2017 we receive an e.mail from their complaints department advising that the claim was settled and we had been informed by letter on 10th November however as the service had not been to standard, would we accept £25 of shopping vouchers
6. I phoned their offices and got an answer machine stating the offices were closed, their opening times were Mon - Fri 8am to 8pm , I was calling at 5.10pm!
7. Finally get to speak to someone the following day only to be told the letter of 10th November had not been sent and we would receive an e.mail by close of business that day or tomorrow morning - nothing
8. Called them again and was told someone would e.mail us by the close of business - nothing
9. Called them again this time someone says there is some paperwork missing but can't say what it is but will e.mail it
10. Phone call to them again today to be finally told the (possible truth but really at this point who knows) When the claims are received, they are scanned and uploaded to their system, the originals are shredded (clearly without checking everything has been scanned) sometimes documents stick together and get missed which is what appears to have happened here.and I need to arrange for the declarations to be signed again by the next of kin
This claim has been ongoing for almost 5 months. The website states claims should be settled within 10 - 15 days and the only excuse is "we've been busy"
My father is away visiting family and then we are away over the Christmas period so it will be the New Year before we can get the new declaration
To suddenly lose a close family member is bad enough and at times like this you need not to have to sort through and explain the same thing over and over due to the incompetence of others. If we are lucky, this claim will be settled by February - 7 months after it was originally filed. An utter shambles and disgrace.
My advice to anyone even thinking about purchasing this product is DON'T, go elsewhere

Reply from Boots Travel Insurance

Hi Susan,

Thank you for your review, my name is Amber and I am part of the Boots Travel Insurance Team.

Firstly, I am so sorry to hear of your Mother's passing, and that you were subsequently dissatisfied by the service you received from our appointed claims team; Travel Claims Facilities.

I can assure you this is not the high standard of service we strive to provide at Boots Travel Insurance, and so I would like to personally investigate your case and attempt to get an urgent update for you.

To allow me to do this, could you please forward your details (including claim and/or policy number) to responses@infinityinsurance.co.uk. I can then speak to the Claims Manager directly on your behalf.

Once again I am very sorry for any and all inconvenience caused, but I will do my best to get this resolved for you.

Kind regards,

Amber

They "made my day" she said

Ordered a bouquet for the birthday (and anniversary) of a friend I've known since we went to school together in 1972!

As she lives in Carlisle I didn't see the flowers other than the image she posted on facebook but they looked lovely. The text I had when the flowers were received read :
"OMG - thank you - they are gorgeous - made my day, love you both xx"
It would appear she was pleased :-)
