Do NOT buy anything - Ordered item not arrived - Silence

Ordered a PC power supply, 2 weeks later, nothing has arrived, I've had no email updates after automated "Order placed" email, when I saw the email address was store+58176307384 at t dot shopifyemail dot com I became very suspicious.

I've contacted them 3 times, 2 requesting an update, and the last requesting cancellation and refund, no response to any of them. Thankfully paid using a credit card, and will claim a chargeback. It is my belief the person/people running Geek Nation are a scam artist.

Customer service one of the best I've experienced

Customer service was excellent, one of the best experiences I've ever had from a company. Emails were personal and friendly, as well as very helpful throughout, with a resolution at the end.

A little back story, 18 month ago the landlord had a new boiler fitted, with a Salus RT510BC+ (RT510TX thermostat & RXBC605 receiver - installed in the boiler). Salus had nothing to do with the install, nor did I have any input/influence of the boiler make or "smart" product used.

RT510BC+ works "wirelessly" between thermostat or receiver, but is a "closed loop" and can't be accessed by a phone or Home Assistant for example. I wanted this feature, so did some research and it appeared the IT500BM thermostat was/is compatible with the RXBC605 receiver (and 2 other receiver models I believe from memory).

So, I bought a IT500BM, and followed the instructions to pair it to the RXBC605 receiver, however it was unsuccessful. After searching online I found 1 forum post suggesting earlier version numbers of RXBC605 receivers are not compatible, I opened up my boiler to find out that my version was V0.5, but I had seen V3 online, and the forum post suggested this also.

I contacted Salus for information/assistance, initially they believed the RXBC605 V0.5 was compatible, and asked me to follow pairing instruction included in their email, and to provide a video of the process to their Whatsapp number, to eliminate any user error, which is understandable. I send in the video of the failed pairing between IT500BM and RXBC605 V0.5 and explained, I could re-pair the RT510TX thermostat immediately, and reiterated I believed it was a version compatibility issue.

Salus got back to me and agreed it was probably a version compatibility issue and they would send out a new RXBC605 V3 receiver free of charge. A few hours later I received another email stating they had done some internal testing with a RXBC605 V0.5 and V3 and could confirm they had replicated my issue, and they were not aware of the issue until now.

The RXBC605 V3 receiver arrived the next day, and within 20 mins I had switched the receivers, very easy to do as the connectors are push fit, and the IT500BM thermostat paired immediately (within the timeframe the instructions state). I now can control my heating via my phone and Home Assistant (3rd party integration).

Again, I can't stress highly enough how pleasant the customer service experience was, and it really does feel like there are some people at Salus who genuinely want to make good products.

Best tyre fitting services around

Went with Tyres on the Drive innitially purely for the price, they were a good £30/40 cheaper for a pair of tyres than the usually "high street" fitters.

They rung me up to double check the tyre specification, excellent phone customer, real friendly chatty guy, even discussed better tyres that were cheaper than the ones I had originally ordered. A time slot was given over the phone.

Day of fitting; fitter rung me to see if I was available as he'd finished his last job early and was in the area. My postcode is new and isn't satnav friendly; the fitter was very patient while I directed him.

Fitter arrived, friendly as you like, straight to business and we had a good chit chat, had all the kit to replace the tyre from the wheel, wheel balancing kit, checked valves, used solution when fitting new tyre. Checked tyre pressures on all tyres, including the spare, checked treads and brake pads.

Fantastic service, they even accept cards, would recommend to everyone. And the fitter informed me they also fit brakes.

No messing about, no trying to con you into extra work, like certain tyre fitting companies do, a very happy customer, I hope they expand to cover nationwide.
