This is a follow up review to my previous review on 17 September.
Following my review I received a reply from Mira showers asking me to send my review to them by e mail as they wanted the opportunity to investigate my feedback further. I did so on 18 September and received an automated reply the same day that they had received it.
That was 7 days ago and I have heard nothing further from them. I can’t say that I am surprised as I had 2 unsatisfactory contacts with their inaptly named customer care centre. The first when querying if the hot water could be connected in a different way to that shown on the diagram in the fitting instructions. 3 days later I received an e mail with nothing but the same picture shown in the instructions. Not a word, no explanation not even a Hi.
The second time was when I was struggling to get the Bluetooth to work. I spoke to a Snooty lady who showed no interest in trying to resolve the problem. When pressed she stated that she would speak to someone and when she returned she said I could have 20% off the Bluetooth extension kit which retails at over £100, they would not supply the extension lead on its own.
On a brighter note if you have the same problems with blue tooth you can get a 4 metre extension cable from Amazon which only costs £8 if you search for Dolphin Automotive 4m Extension Lead for DPS400 Buzzer and DPS450 Display Parking Sensor Kit. The connectors are identical and it works perfectly. I moved mine into the loft space directly over the shower and it now works as it should
Once it’s up and running it’s a good shower but whether it’s worth the cost and how reliable the after care and guarantee will be is debatable.

Don’t buy a Mira Platinum Dual Wall Fed…

Don’t buy a Mira Platinum Dual Wall Fed Wireless Digital Mixer Shower. Go for the hard-wired version as the Bluetooth capability is useless. You have to be virtually by the pump unit for a good signal. They claim a 5 metre range with the coy statement that the signal could be effected by walls etc. My unit is 1.75 metres from the bathroom with one wall. The shower is recessed so if the signal has to travel in a straight line it would be 2 walls at the very most. The signal in the bathroom is good but the minute you get to the shower door it loses contact.
It is the same with the mobile app. I can’t use it in any other room only when it is close to the unit so the system is not fit for purpose.
The really annoying factor is that they sell a blue tooth extension for over £100 which uses the same blue tooth unit supplied with the shower with an extension cable. The one supplied with the unit is very short and is plugged in to the pump casing so to increase the signal you only need to unclip the unit and use the extension cable.
They will not sell the extension cable separately. Basically, they are profiteering from the poor design as you are being forced to buy a new blue tooth unit that is not needed.
Why they do not supply a longer lead in the first place is beyond my comprehension.
Mira have come back to me since this review
Their reply is "You have raised valid points about connectivity and product design. While Bluetooth was selected for specific technical reasons, we appreciate that Wi-Fi offers broader compatibility with smart home systems. Regarding the extension lead, we understand your concern and agree that accessibility is key. Your feedback is important and will be shared with our product team for consideration in future developments and how we can better support customers facing similar challenges.
In other words if you can't get a Bluetooth connection with the supplied items you are on your own

I was worried when I read the reviews…

I was worried when I read the reviews on this site when I found out that my new bathroom vanity unit was to be delivered by them
I needn't have worried. It was delivered on time by a local haulage company. The packaging was unmarked and in perfect condition. The driver was friendly and very helpful unloading it exactly where it needed to be
What more could anyone ask for

Outstanding customer service

I have just ordered a vanity unit from Nosa. The lady I spoke to, Anita, was amazing. I struggled a little with the website and she went out of her way to make sure that my order was exactly what I wanted and that the payment went through. Throughout she was pleasant and friendly and she updated me with the delivery details once the payment went through.
All in all perfect customer service.

Pot luck if you get the right lenses

I ordered 2 pairs of glasses one distance and one for the computer. I today received what should have been computer glasses only to find that they were fitted with distance lenses when I tried them. Apparently the pair of distance glasses are to be delivered tomorrow.
I called the company and the young man said that they could not provide the lenses for computer use as they needed the addition. I had previously bought a pair of reading glasses and a pair of distance glasses from them only weeks ago so a third pair of distance glasses are of no use to me.
I asked him why they had sent them when they were not what I wanted and he just repeated that they could not provide them without a prescription. I asked him why on earth had they not contacted me before proceeding with the order and he was unable to give any reason.
I could return them but the refund would only be a few pounds as they were the second pair and the frames were free. In other words not worth my time and effort
Best off using a proper Opticians who certainly wouldn't just fit any old lens just to complete the order

A reliable company with a fast turn round of ord

I have used them several times over the years. The tools are good quality and well priced. Postage is extremely reasonable.
Each time the order has been dispatched quickly and I have normally received them the next day even when ordered in the afternoon.
On this occasion I noticed I had made and error when I receive the email acknowledgement of the order and sent an e mail asking them to correct it which they promptly did and I received the items the next day
