Oakwood efficient service and good communications

Oakwood contacted me by phone and told me I was due more compensation on losses from a share dealing company which had gone out of business. I was sceptical because I had already had some money back but they were true to their word and in a few weeks I got over £6000 back after their fees. Very efficient and gave me good advice throughout. The money was in my account 2 days afetr they got it.

Review of Covered2Go Travel Insurance

The normal insurance is good

The basic insurance is quite good but I am not so keen on the pre-existing conditions costs. I have diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, all well controlled by tablets and so unlikely to cause trouble on a holiday. I also have eczema which is also chronic rather than acute so again unlikely to cause problems. I have to pay over £100 on top of the (reasonable) policy price and worse there is an excess of a further £300 on top of the normal £200 so if anything at all happened I have to pay £500 of costs. I think covered2go should look at this.

Dear David Quinn,

We thank you for your comments regarding the medical screening process. Whilst we appreciate the process is not ideal, we are currently developing a smoother transition for policyholders who need to declare medical conditions.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on Trustpilot.

Kind Regards,

Covered2Go

Cavendish Kane recovered a lot of money…

Cavendish Kane recovered a lot of money I had lost through a bad investment company. Since I didn't know this was possible I was very pleasantly surprised. C-K were efficient and prompt in getting the required claims submitted and when the funds came through very prompt in transferring to my account. I am happy with their service.

Good health coverage but...

The insurance is good and generally the process is good. I would have one suggestion though (for the whole industry really). I have diabetes. This leads me to have other drugs like statins and blood pressure tablets to reduce the risk so the things go together. This leads to a long interview on the health aspects. The outcome pricewise is reasonable but would it not be easier, if one is using the same insurer just to state the differences from last year rather than go through it all again. C2G is no different from other companies in this respect of course.

Good prices and prompt efficient delivery

I have bought several items from AO and been happy with their price, delivery and communication. No problems. They did try to sell me a guarantee (which I think was really Domestic and General which was at an outrageous price. I'd steer clear of that.

Hi David Quinn

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your experience with us, we really do appreciate your feedback.

I'm really glad that you're happy with the service you've received, this is what drives us more than anything as we really want our customers to be happy. We believe in offering competitive prices, flexible delivery and excellent customer service, we think this is a winning combination for our customers.

However, I'm sorry to read that you were not pleased with the offer of our Worry Free Plan option. The Plan is offered to selected customers and offers additional peace of mind when purchasing an appliance. The Plan is underwritten by Domestic and General as they are the U.K's leader in white goods insurance, we believe that this offers security and they are experts when dealing with any potential issue you may have with an appliance. We understand that the Plan isn't for everyone and the decision to opt in is completely up to you.

I've managed to find your order and I shall be passing your comments on to our Quality Team as we're always looking to improve the service we provide.

If you need to get back in touch with us we're open between 8am and 10pm daily to help you and can be called on 0844 3249222, or through an email to reviews@appliancesonline.co.uk. We look forward to hearing from you again soon.

Triffic

The quality of the two items I have had has been very good especially for the price. Last time there was a bit if a glitch. They phoned and left messages about delivery and sent me an email. Unfortunately I was away when the delivery turned up. However, they sorted it out without fuss and very quickly so I was impressed.

Review of Save on Laptops

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Good and bad

I was unlucky. I asked for a delivery to another address but paid by PayPal but nothing warned me that this would mean it was sent to my home address and the one I had asked for would be ignored. I picked this up but on Sat when no-one was there to stop the delivery. When I rang on Monday the chaps said the PayPal thing was a bit of an issue which needed to be ironed out and he would recall the laptop, refund me and ring me when it turned up to see waht I wanted to do. £ days later no call. I rang again and got a lady who said the PayPal issue was in your Ts&Cs and I should have realised. I said it was astupid place to put it and it needed an upfront warning or even refuse to allow PayPal payment if you wanted a non-home address. The laptop hadn't come back yet so she said I should wait. OK but no need for the hassle. I got a refund a couple of days later, but no phone call. I reordered the laptop online, paying by Visa. Next day I get a text; problem with the order, please ring. I ring. Same lady. Why did I want to send to non-home address. I explained I was buying the laptop for my sister who lives in Belfast. I live in London. She said they didn't usually deliver to a foreign address. I said Belfast is not foreign. She said it was over the water! I said there was nothing about this on the site and I had paid the non-mainland postage. She said it was in the Ts&Cs. I had read them by this time. Like the PayPal thing it isn't. She reluctantly said she would release the laptop. Next day I get a text saying delivery refused by addressee. I discover from DPD that this is because I have put my own postcode in not the Belfast postcode (stupid mistake on my part). I ring again. Same lady. You put in the wrong postcode so laptop in Woodford, she says. Could it be changed I said, expecting a fight. yes, she syas and does it. Phew. Laptop turns up next day in Belfast. Amazingly quick. Next thing I discover I have been charged twice on my Visa bill. I ring. Chap said he would have to look into it and would ring back. No call back. Left it a few days. Rnag again. Told repayment had been authorised on 24/6. Left it a few more days. Repayment eventually turned up on 1/7. Good points;: excellent price, good text comms about delivery, you do the right things eventually. Bad points (which could be fixed) - no-one ever rings back and over-defensiveness when things go wrong. Need tp refuse Paypal for alternative address.
