Absolutely unacceptable service and dangerous negligence – IKEA Order #1516064345
On May 5th, my IKEA delivery (order #1516064345), handled by Wincanton Holdings Limited, went disastrously wrong. The lift in my building had recently been repaired, and our property management had explicitly banned the use of it for moving heavy items. I informed the delivery team of this directly. Despite clear instructions, they refused to carry the items one flight of stairs and insisted—rudely and dismissively—on using the elevator. As a result, the lift is now broken again, affecting all residents, including elderly and mobility-impaired people. This is a serious safety and accessibility issue.
To make matters worse, the team did not follow IKEA’s basic delivery policy. They dumped over 600kg of furniture in one spot and refused to move it into the appropriate rooms, saying they were “in a rush.” The person I hired to receive the delivery was left alone to move everything.
I’ve tried contacting IKEA multiple times through their support channels and received no reply. This is not just poor service—it’s dangerous, negligent, and completely unacceptable.
IKEA and Wincanton must take full responsibility for the damage and cover 100% of the elevator repair costs. I expect a prompt and serious response.
