A formerly regular customer, I bought a book at the regular price. A few weeks later when I first opened it to start reading, I found black ink writing in the margins, underlining, asterisks, and many other defacements. I tried to return the book, but was told that "many people don't mind writing in their books."

Once, this was a friendly and authentic bookstore which never would have sold such trash. If, in those days, a book like this had gotten past them, they would have apologised and provided a refund. But I suppose all good things must end.
