Won't refund lost package

Placed an order. A few days later it becomes apparent it is lost in transit--the FedEx tracking lists the package as "delayed" now for over a week. At first Osprey customer service responds by sending me the tracking number again. When I try again a few days later I am told to wait for a FedEx investigation. No further word, no refund, no order.
Lesson learned--next time I will buy at REI. Never again Osprey and never again directly from a manufacturer.
