Things aren't so great anymore
I have been a customer for over a year. Over a month ago Minded sent me an email that said they just started taking my insurance in Florida, asked me to submit my health insurance information and that "Our Concierge Team will verify your eligibility and message you within 3 business days to discuss next steps."
I didn't hear back that month. Mid February I received a notification not to my email box but through their site stating that they received approval from my insurance and my billing plan would change on Feb 28th from the $45 a month flat fee I had been paying to $50 co-pay per visit.
This seemed like a bad deal to me. Not only was I paying at least $5 more per month (since a monthly visit is necessary to keep your monthly prescription) but also if I needed to talk to my provider again in that 30 day period for any reason I would have to pay another $50.
I asked minded not to bill through my insurance but to keep me on the plan I was on, they told me they couldn't. I pointed out that I never agreed to be billed through my insurance and pasted the text from their email that I would be contacted if I was eligible regarding the "next steps" and they told me that they have been so busy that they simply didn't have time to contact me as they said they would.
I feel this is a deceptive billing practice so I decided I no longer want to be a customer of Minded. I then moved my last appointment with my provider up a week to the 27th, as that was my last day on my monthly membership per their guidance, and cancelled my prior scheduled visit on March 6th.
Today, on March 3rd I was billed $50. I don't have any appointments scheduled for March and my last appointment was almost a week ago, during my pre-paid monthly membership. According to their new billing terms, I am no longer charged on a monthly basis but only pay a co-pay when I see my provider. I have not seen my provider in March, I have no appointment for my provider scheduled for March. According to their new billing terms as they provided through chat with a customer service representative (and not available on their site ???), no appointment / visit = no copay. I have asked them why they billed me today but its been hours without a response & no one answers their phones.
Update- they did refund the payment but never explained why they billed me for a copay without a doctor visit. I really enjoyed my provider, but cannot recommend this company.
