Strike 2!

Unfortunately I ordered a record that was claimed to be in stock that many record shops were advertising to have limited copies in stock. Past experience with merchbar led me to follow up—and, as predicted, they didn’t really have stock. So they cancelled and promised me a refund—in 10 days (still waiting). So far 0% of the records I bought from merchbar actually came. On the other hand I have had 100% of the hassle! I don’t know why spotify continues to have anything to do with this company. Customer service is pretty quick to respond, but it must be frustrating to work for a company with such a poor track record.

Hi Eric, we’re sorry for the hassle and poor experience you had. This is not at all what we strive for our customers. While we partner directly with artists, record labels, and official distributors, the entire industry is experiencing some issues with the production of vinyl records, and some can’t keep up with the demand. We are typically notified of the expected inventory we will get, but sometimes production falls short and we have to cancel and refund our customers. This is frustrating to the customers and to Merchbar as well. Refunds can take up to 15 business days depending on your bank but usually happen within a few days.
