Waste of time

**Edit: Customer Service below has not answered my query. My child has never received a NHS medical card, so we can't apply. Not only do Coventry make things impossible, they don't address problems. Never had this child ID problem with other financial institutions!**

Waste of time. Trying to open a Junior ISA for a child who has already had an account with the Coventry, as do I.

Two forms of ID required for a young child, even though a current customer. Firstly photographic. Okay so I don't particularly like sending original passports etc off, even by special delivery and doubt they would send back registered. And, what - a second ID also has to be sent for the child?

My young child does not have, and is not old enough to have: a driving licence, bank statements, home insurance, council tax bill, utility bills, medical card (like the NHS issue them anymore!) in her name confirming her address. From this very narrow list, time limited documents too.

Too onerous, don't bother. Paperwork, paperwork, paperwork in every way. Gone with a different bank whose application process was nothing like this. The Coventry 2 ID requirements is impossible and a waste of time when they can, and probably will, change the interest rates at any time.

Hello there. I'm sorry you were disappointed in us when trying to open a Junior ISA. Just to clarify, when you're opening an account for a child, the only ID we need to see for them is birth/adoption certificate, and one document which proves where the child lives, for example her NHS medical card.

The requirement for photographic ID you mention is solely for the adult opening the account.
