ROL have come good!
We had never been on a cruise so early 2020 we took the plunge and booked one for my wife's 60th, that was due to sail September 2021. In July we sadly received the news that CSV cruises had ceased trading. We were advise by ROL to make a claim with ABTA to get our deposit back. When we eventually got the promised information from ROL we duly put our claim in with ABTA. You can imagine disgust when we received a letter from ABTA last week stating they could only refund a third of our deposit as ROL had only paid that amount to CSV back in July. I have no reason to doubt ABTA's information and have emailed ROL accordingly. ROL must have known his much they paid to CSV, so why have they not refunded the money still in their possession and how many people have they done this to. If ABTA's information is wrong I'll change my review, but if true then that is a disgrace.
Update 22/12/20
I have just had a one to one with ROL Cruise and I can now see where the problem lay, communication, the heart of all problems. I personally would have liked to have known the intricacies beforehand hand, others I appreciated wouldn't. I appreciate it's been a difficult time for everyone, requiring solutions to problems nobody could have predicted. My faith has been restored with the company. Whether we will go on a cruise in the future I don't know, this would have been our first, sadly not to be.
