My elderly parents took out a Homeserve…
My elderly parents took out a Homeserve policy for one year and never had to make a claim. The policy had automatically been renewed by homeserve without the consent of my parents who had never received any renewal quote or documents. Only discovered subsequently that the premium had been increased by 40% and monies taken. When I contacted the customer service team they continued to blame the customer for not taking the action in response to the renewal letters despite having never received them. The complaints department refused to refund the monies paid. Automatic renewals should be made illegal especially as these companies know elderly and vulnerable people cannot always deal with home affairs without support. I have referred the matter to trading standards shame on you Homeserve
