Energy Helpline experience
For a number of years I used Energy Helpline and their very helpful advisers to guide my decisions about switching provider with very satisfactory results. Being cautious about this partially tied service I checked their advice with WhichSwitch who gave very similar recommendations. I was always reminded by Energy Helpline at the critical point of my current tariff ending. This stopped a few years ago, and in any case I was having long drawn out problems with SP about serious admin failures on their part - even they recommended I go to the Ombudsman! Having recently moved house I thought I would contact the helpline again but was a little put off by the online process (there are always questions to be asked I find), but having made a preliminary online assessment I rang and received the same patient personal advice as previously, and having made my decision, they handled the switch as smoothly as before.
