Steer well clear

Steer well clear - delivery is dreadful. I ordered shirts, which were meant to be a Christmas present on 2nd December and was advised of a delivery date by the 9th December. As of the 11th no delivery and no communication to apologise, or at the very least advise of the delay. Have been told they cannot find the delivery and was expected to wait a further 24 hours to allow them to try and find which would have made it 3 days late and some 10 days since ordering but with no guarantee of any shirts. As visiting the intended recipient of these gifts I have now had to cancel the order and try and find time to buy from one of their competitors. No apology from them and whilst this review might generate one as now in the public domain I would suggest their time is better spent on sorting out one the fundamental of retail which is fulfilling orders and customer comms.

Delivery issues and delays are always deeply frustrating, so I certainly do apologise that your recent order with us has been impacted in this manner. Hermes are usually very solid when it comes to their reliability, but this time of year is incredibly busy for all carriers. For example, over the Black Friday - Cyber Monday period, they received over 1.2 million parcels more than last year! As a result, there have been some understandable knock-on effects.

I would be grateful if you could provide us with your order number, so we can ensure your feedback here is passed along both internally and to Hermes. I'll also double-check your replacement order so we know it is being arranged.

It's good to see you ordering in plenty of time for Christmas (I wish I was so organised!), so I trust the item(s) will be enjoyed later this month despite the delay in the order reaching you.
