We booked a couple's holiday to West…
First Canadian Trip. We booked a couple's holiday to West Canada and had a lovely time, despite a cancelled flight and then a delayed flight. Rickshaw Travel warned the car hire company for me that we would be late. Our only issue really was that I thought we'd paid for everything I advance when we paid Rickshaw Travel, (except for some breakfasts and other meals,) but were hit with a one way car-hire charge that I thought had been paid locally by Kanata, and hadn't. Not a nice start to the holiday after the delay, and then a hard sell with the car hire company trying to suggest that the car wasn't suitable and that we also needed sat nav. All of which would have cost nearly £300 at the beginning of an expensive holiday. Some of Kanata travels directions were not that great, and we ended up travelling in the wrong direction on leaving the airport. Also some other places we went round and round until we found the hotel. Some of the places we stayed at were magical and I wouldn't have found them if I hadn't booked through Rickshaw Travel. These include Bear Hills Lodge in Jasper, Alpine Meadows outside Clearwater (I'm glad I asked for a kitchen as it's in the middle of nowhere) and Hidden Cove Lodge near Telegraph Cove - the last being particularly memorable. I wish I'd spent a whole week there, despite one of their staff being "unhelpful" to say the least! To go to Tofino after Hidden Cove was a bit of a let down. The lodge at Tofino was OK but it was all too busy for us. Harrison Hot Springs we didn't like and wouldn't return. Canmore we loved, but would stay at a smaller hotel. I'm really glad we took 23 days over what was advertised as a 15 day tour. It meant we could see far more at those places and not be so rushed.
