To all prior to buying Wheel Science…
To all prior to buying Wheel Science 40/45 wheels rim brake rims with 180 DT Swiss hubs I been riding with CLX 40 rim brake rims for the last 9 years. Switching to these Wheel Science 40/45 wheels I didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised! first of all my CLX 40 weight is just under 1,400 grams. These Wheel Science 40/45 came in at 1,275 grams. My bike now weighs a 1/4 pd. less! The DT Swiss hubs are great! The razor spoke are also, nice and cool looking. The rims have a nice slick shine other than the contact area for the brake pad. When applying the brakes well it stops on a dime, and they have never squeaked once! I can't say that about the CLX 40 they always squeaked sometimes really bad. With these Wheel Science 40/45 it's definitely easy to maintain a given speed. Riding up "GMR" Glendora Mountain Road I'm doing a little quicker time. I been using Continental 5000 STR tires with these wheels and tires the ride is really smooth and the handling is great. Last week I got a rear flat going about 23 mph. I stop as soon as I could hoping my new rim was okay. Checking out my rim and tire I noticed bead of the tire was secured to the bead of the rim and rim never touched the asphalt. That would never would have happen with the CLX 40. So, I would have to say these Wheel Science 40/45 rims are Great! I would recommend them to anyone looking for a great all-around rim.

They can custom make wheel sets for you and that does take awhile, but it takes about 2 weeks and I needed them for a week-long bicycling trip. I really wanted them because of the quality of their work and the lifetime warranty. I had to cancel the order because they come from overseas and it didn't appear it would arrive in time so I could use them. Maybe next time.
The best I ever had…
I don't recall ever purchasing anything where the communication was this expedient, comprehensive, and personalized. They clearly take pride in what they do and appreciate their customers.
Products ok but transparency and communication poor
The website leads the reader to believe these products are hand made in Australia when in reality they are made in China. Not a bad thing necessarily but I felt misled. The shipping was also delayed and there was no communication until I followed up.
Great wheels!
Great communication and flexibility
Great communication and flexibility. I order just rims but wanted decals on them. I just contacted WheelScience and it was done.
The 2 day shipping of stock wheels…
The 2 day shipping of stock wheels isn't quite spot on but I did get my wheels within 2 weeks.
I've now been out and about on them a few times and they are worth every penny.
I would say if you are super concerned with aesthetic don't get their decal, choose the stealth option. Nonetheless, rolling beautifully.
Good Value, Details Matter
Overall build quality seems good, performance is also good and durability thus far has been as advertised and expected
Be aware that “tubeless ready” does not confer what is implied (a wheel which out of the box is ready for tubeless tyres)…rather it means one receives wheels, tubeless valves and rim tape, installation falls to the recipient
“Tubeless compatible” might be more accurate
Shipping notification may well come from the carrier before vendor notification on build being completed …in my case,
FedEx notified me that I was to receive a shipment from Fujian, CN but not that it was from Wheelscience. Not having heard from the vendor (Day 17 post order confirmation) I contacted them and was able to eventually conclude this was my wheel set.
These wheels are not made in Australia, they are made in China. That does not imply anything negative, however it is equally not something which is clearly stated on the vendor website.
best service ever!
...we had a quality issue and they replaced the product right away. they covered the expensive shipping (to germany), best service experience ever.
First class service and products 👍🏻

End product is fantastic & spot on the money with great value. Delivery was longer than web site SLA's suggestion by a number of weeks, arriving 2 days prior to the event purchased for.

Worst product ever purchased
Worst product ever purchased. They took almost a month to arrive and leaked immediately. Terrible quality and even worse customer service. A plastic shopping bag and a heat gun would make a better quality tube.
Shame on you, Wheelscience.
TPU's multiple pinch punctures.
TPU's multiple pinch punctures
On my third ride, with the tubes, 40km in or so I was descending and hit a pothole. Both front and back gpu tubes punctured. I replaced them with 2 fresh TPU tubes and completed the ride.
Got home and went to repair the tubes. Both had in excess of 10 pinch punctures! Yes in excess of 10 so not repairable. I was gutted. If I had been on butyl maybe once pinch puncture in each tube would be expected maybe 2 but 10 !
Was running these with Specialized Sworks Turbo 26c tyres. Oh well that was £30 down the pothole.
1 ride in in the rain and a puncture
Used the tubes for 5 rides so far, last ride in the ride an immediately a flat tire. Tires itself are new continental gp5000. Bit disappointed to get so quick a puncture for tubes that are supposed to more puncture resistant.
I bought four of these tubes
I bought four of these tubes. They arrived quickly to the USA but they are a waste of time and money. One of the brand new tubes had a leak at the seam. Another one at the stem. Two of them were installed and worked but they lasted less time than conventional tubes. These things are almost like condoms, they are super thin and unforgiving to anything that pokes thru the tire. They are super light but they are also super fragile.
If someone gave me these for free I would not waste my time putting them on my bike!
Great tubes
Very happy with my tubes. Shipping was super quick and customer service was extremely helpful and responsive!
Pin holes
I had tried cheaper TPU tubes from another supplier but found on fitting one of the two had a tiny pin hole but I just thought inferior quality so I'll try Wheelscience believing the higher price would result in better quality.Had exactly the same issue with two out of the three I received with an explanation I'd probably nicked them on fitting as they are tested before despatch. Didn't use tyre levers on fitting and have fitted countless butyl and latex tubes without he same problem so disappointed with the explanation and not convinced.
TPU Tubes - Best I've used so far.
TPU Tubes - Have used these now for approx 250 miles. Installed the 26-32mm on a 19mm wide internal rim fitted with 28mm tyres. Straightforward to fit, put in a little air to get them into shape and then insert into the tyre. Tube seal around the valve is more robust than other TPU tubes i've used in the past. Early season training so no fast times, but subjectively feel faster than my previous buytl tubes particularly up hill and suprisingly downhill as well. No punctures to date, riding on UK roads with many pot holes / cracks. Lose about 5 - 10psi over a week, so similar to buytl tubes.
