Do not make a reservation through the Knot website. My reservation confirmation rates were not honored. I was charged $100 more per night. Trisha Ann from Lodging Support has been no help. After contacting the place I stayed, they shared that the Knot had not sent them the rates that my confirmation stated. Everything is time stamped and I'm currently looking at legal advice because I have a feeling that I'm not the only person that this has happened to.
deleting reviews and not returning them…
deleting reviews and not returning them even after all documentation has been provided is absurd. why even bother collecting reviews if you cater to the company and not the genuine customer.
The website doesn't load half the time
The website doesn't load half the time, there's always some sort of error occurring, and the UI for building a wedding website is downright awful. If I could plan my wedding all over again, I would NOT use this website, it is my greatest regret of the entire planning process.
They already know
I think this company should know the people they hire to entertain children or adults represents the knot. I recently saw a post by an entertainer they hire thst was disturbing. This guy DJ Anthony Lamb thinks posting memes glorifying pedophilia is ok. I don't and I believe people hiring him should know this. He is not someone I would want around my child
1 star is more than they deserve
1 star is more than they deserve. If you had a bad experience, you can report them to the Attorney General in Maryland. I see others had the same experience I had. Fake leads.
I wish we can give them zero stars
I wish we can give them a zero stars. They scam small businesses by promising them leads, and then sending them fake leads. We have not received a single legit lead in the 3 months we have been on their platform, and adding salt to injury, we have to spend time responding to these fake leads.
The knot is a worthless small business villain
The knot company as a whole is a scummy and scam ridden business who preys on small businesses by relentlessly calling to try and lock them into a contract which they fail to mention is a 12 month locked in contract with auto renewal already selected unless undone by the user themselves. Nothing but scam calls and messages instead of leads and super disrespectful and poor customer service and overall communication. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THE KNOT IF YOU ARE A SMALL BUSINESS. $500 A MONTH FOR PHISHING EMAILS AND SCAM CALLS, SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME.
Don’t buy products from them
They just do not care about their customers at all. It’s fine to use them for a website to organize your wedding and registries but I would never purchase invitations or signs from them again. Overpriced outrageous shipping cost and difficult design process to name a few. Carefully check for product description because some are very small. If you make a mistake they simply do not care and offer no solutions. ZAZZLE.COM a much better company and stands behind their products. They care about their customers
I can not cancel this service somehow.
I can not cancel this service somehow.
I continue to get recommendations a week later.
I told them I have someone.
They keep harassing you anyway. Too aggressive. Zero stars. Stay away.
Stay away from advertising with The…
Stay away from advertising with The Knot and Wedding Pro. I am a vendor who did advertise with them for years. Although they started raising my fee without my consent, notifying me, sending a contract or having me sign it. When I requested a yearly contract, they said it’s on their website, but it was no where to be found and they kept charging me. I tried to cancel my listing, and I canceled my payments with my bank. Now they are trying to have a collection agency collect what they say is what I owe them even though I never agreed to pay them in the first place! Total scam. Stay away!
Biased
I only used the knot to write reviews. It accepted my 5 star reviews fine. When I went to write a 2 star review on a horrible florist that nearly ruined my daughter's wedding, No matter what I did it would not accept my review I tried just two sentences, a long paragraph, with photos and without. What really made me suspicious was that the florist has super high rating on the knot but on YELP a very low rating!
Do Not advertise with them!
Years ago I advertised with them but wasn’t happy with the leads I was getting as they felt scammy. They still have my listing on their website even though I don’t pay for it and I STILL get fake leads and people who have made fake profiles asking for my services.
As a wedding business…I would say stay away!
I have been a vendor with The Knot for years. Ever since they changed their platform and sent their customer service to wherever in God’s name it is now…I cannot get the support I once did, and now I don’t have 1 rep, but a whole department of people who don’t care and cannot get anything done!
I cancelled advertising for 1 of my business to still be charged several months later and not be able to get the correct refund…and of course no business is coming from it either.
I also note that brides are really just using this platform now as a pricing tool, looking for the lowest bidder, not even consider experience and the fact that flower quotes are never apples to apples.
As a paying vendor I would say you’re better off to find another means for getting business. What they charge now is not worth what little business comes from it, not the terrible customer service!
This company is awful
This company is awful, I "purchased" a gift off of a registry for a bridal shower 3 weeks before the event. I have yet to receive the gift I purchased and all customer service can say is that the vendor will let them know when my item might ship. Now its looking like the gift will eventually come but most definitely after the wedding shower. Total lack of responsibility on this company's part. No accountability and most important, no refund on purchases. Brides be ware, dont use this company for anything. If this is the treatment family is getting I can only imagine what its like to be the bride. Total rip off.
They blocked our negative but honest review of one of their vendors
We had a dispute with a wedding officiant we found through their site. We wrote a negative review on their site and she disputed it. They sided with the vendor 100% and wouldn't post our review and even told us that if we wrote another review they would not post it. (The dispute, in short, was because we paid the vendor a deposit and then found out one day later she is not legally qualified to perform weddings in North Carolina. She refused to refund our deposit. She claimed "our contract" clearly states the deposit is nonrefundable. Two problems with that - 1. we never signed a contract with her and 2. the contract also states, falsely, that she is fully qualified to perform weddings. We stated all this in our review and provided legal references proving that she is not qualified and weddingwire completely took her side and even parroted her words about the contract. AVOID THEM AND THEIR SISTER SITE, WEDDINGWIRE.COM
BEWARE!!!!
BEWARE!!!!! This company is a complete scam! They lock you into an imaginary contract that I never signed! I was told over the phone that I could cancel at anytime, that was a complete lie. They continue to charge you and it’s a never ending cycle! This site need to be completely shut down! Horrible, please stay away!
PERSONAL PRIVACY ISSUES
everything else with the knot is fine, EXCEPT: when you mark your website not searchable within browsers, it still is. This led to a major personal safety issue for myself and my husband for our wedding day. When I called customer service, they said they could have the listing down within 10 days, with no explanation of why it was up in the first place
Formerly Invested $2,500/Month with The Knot
I’ve been a vendor on The Knot/WeddingPro for years, investing thousands of dollars per month across multiple markets. While the platform once delivered value and visibility, the past year has marked a clear and disappointing decline — both in performance and integrity.
One of the most concerning changes was a sudden drop-off in inquiries. Previously, when selecting a market like Dallas, the platform would show how many vendors were listed — often 200+ in a region. At some point in 2024, that changed. Regardless of the location, only around 80 vendors would appear in search results.
Using a VPN, I ran my own searches from different regions across the country and noticed a disturbing pattern: sometimes my business appeared, sometimes it didn’t — even when searching within my paid spotlight regions. This strongly suggests The Knot has moved to a carousel-style visibility model, where vendor profiles are no longer displayed 100% of the time, even when you're paying for premium placement. I raised this concern with their team and was met with vague responses and flat-out denials.
I also pointed out other platform changes and flaws and was repeatedly met with defensive or hostile responses. At one point, a senior employee even admitted to internal staffing shortages, which were impacting operations — something I was already experiencing firsthand. My account manager — responsible for a $2,500/month spend — once took over two weeks to respond to an urgent inquiry.
In my opinion, the level of service dropped sharply around the same time support functions seemed to shift offshore. Support reps became more generic, less informed, and slower to act — often lacking access to basic account history. This was a sharp contrast to the platform’s earlier years, when service felt personalized and responsive.
As a business that invested heavily in The Knot across multiple states and categories, I find it disheartening to see the platform evolve into something so opaque and inconsistent. I’m no longer confident in the value or ethics behind this service.
I share this experience to help other vendors make informed decisions — especially those considering high-dollar Spotlight or Featured listings. Be cautious, ask tough questions, and track your visibility carefully.
Wasted My Time – Hidden Costs and Pushy Sales Tactics
I run a small photography business and got a call from a lady at WeddingPro/The Knot. She kept pushing me to raise my prices and promised “better clients,” but never mentioned it costs $650/month. If she had told me upfront, I wouldn’t have even entertained the call.
She booked a 30-minute meeting that dragged into an hour and a half, wasting my time. Thank God I didn’t fall for it, but now I’m seeing so many others did — and got locked into expensive contracts they didn’t fully understand.
Honestly, platforms like Zola are way better. No hidden pricing, no pushy sales tactics. I’ve had a much smoother experience there — none of these traps.
Be careful if you’re considering WeddingPro. They lead with hype and hide the cost.
Misled into 12-Month Contract with No Results — Avoid WeddingPro
I signed up for WeddingPro (The Knot / WeddingWire) in January 2025 after a rushed sales call while I was at work. I was never clearly told I would be locked into a 12-month contract that I couldn’t cancel. The rep pushed me to quickly click and agree to terms, but never disclosed that I’d be financially locked in for a full year.
Since then, I’ve spent over $1,100 and received zero bookings. Most of the “inquiries” I received were generic, mass-sent messages with no real engagement or follow-up. When I tried to cancel, I was told I’d have to pay for the entire year even though the service brought me no value.
I made multiple requests to escalate the issue and speak to someone else — instead, I was just looped back to the same rep who dismissed my concerns. I asked for access to the recorded sales call to confirm whether the 12-month term was disclosed, and they refused to share it.
I’ve now filed formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau and Consumer Protection agencies. I’m not asking for a refund, just to stop future payments and exit a contract I was never clearly informed of.
If you’re a small business or creative professional, I strongly urge you to be cautious before signing anything with WeddingPro. Their sales tactics are misleading and their customer service is evasive once you’re locked in.
