I was a frequent customer to tapas…

I was a frequent customer to tapas revolution, always a bit more pricey from other Spanish restaurants, anyway I haven’t been for a few years, and today for lunch I was in blue water shopping center and went to Tapas Revolution…..the food was below average every thing was microwaveable reheating, the iberico ham is pre-slice and vacuum packed because they served with some of the plastic that is used to separate the slice, not much of a problem as I spotted before eating the ham, I can understand the mistake can be made but there was only 2 tables including us, we had 4 tapas 1 chicken main 2 drinks the bill was close to £100, including service charge, the lady who served us was very nice and she made it very clear that we didn’t had pay the service charge, I did pay the service charge because the service was good.
But you will not see me again for that kind of price and quality.

If I could leave less than one star I…

If I could leave less than one star I would. Don't waste your money. Terrible, poor quality food for a ridiculously high price. We had the vegetarian set menu for 2. There was not enough food for one and what was there was terrible. The 'chargrilled' broccoli was watery, overcooked and bland and sitting on a puddle of garlic mayonnaise - cheap garlic mayonnaise too. No way had it been near any kind of grill. The 'goats cheese' that was promised on other dishes was a couple of tiny blobs of something that tasted like how baby sick smells. Not anything like goats cheese I've ever tasted. The ciabatta was soggy and not toasted - I mean how can you get toast wrong? It had a mushy tomato topping that was full of raw acrid tasting garlic. The aubergine was OK, but between the two of there was about a sixth of an aubergine served. The beetroot was fine, but no flavour and was probably precooked from a packet. They forgot one of the courses and we had to wait ages for them to bring it. Spanish people would be disgusted and would never serve such rubbish or let anyone go home hungry. They have a cheek to charge a service charge too. We didn't pay the service charge. It is optional BTW, but they don't tell you that. £28.50 for food I could have recreated much better myself for about £2. Terrible. I'll never go back again. So disappointed.

Basically I was very disappointed…ripped off

Basically I was very disappointed because I didn't realise how expensive it is in that little cafe, cos it's not even a decent restaurant, I had a chicken kebab, small amount of rice, small amount of tomato in toast, tomato salad. T2lwo lemonades and one pineapple juice to share with my 2 daughters. I paid £56.98 , for that small amount of food.. so I had to split the bill with my daughter cos it was just too expensive..I should have gone to a proper restaurant instead.. and I just feel those people are a joke and ripping off everyone.. cos is just too little to eat and very expensive 😫 why?... hated being scammed ☹️ never again, plz avoid that place.. i would not recommend it at all ...😫

Give it a miss

because of the all you can eat offer for £22.95 Ordered 3 dishes each initially which didn’t amount to £22.95 if they’d been ordered from the main menu but when we asked for further dishes, they never arrived. After half hour was told there was a problem with the oven despite other customers being served and eventually we had to leave as it was clear they were not going to bring the food. Was still charged full amount and staff were pretty rude If you’re planning on eating from the all you can eat menu be aware you will only be allowed 3 dishes so be aware of the price as it’s probably cheaper eating from the main menu As for the food - there are much better restaurant options and definitely much better tapas restaurants

The food was just terrible.

The food was just terrible.
The Gordal olives, were not Gordal and when we pointed this out, told that was all they had.
Requested to see the specials board was told they hadn't done one.
The calamari was quite honestly the worst we've ever had, completely dry, and tasteless, absolutely convinced that it had been reheated/ fried.
The cheese in the tomato salad was so over powering bitter/sour and obviously gone off, I was told the chef had made it fresh and that was how it was meant to be. The fat on the pork belly had not been rendered properly and came not crispy as advertised but flaccid and only just warm.
Caesar salad was actually just fine and our waitress really friendly and very embarrassed. The toilets were complete mess with tissues, water and rubbish on the floor, with two of them out of service. We left feeling that we had just been completely conned out of £80.00. So sad really as it used to be such a lovely place.

VERY DISAPPOINTING FOOD!!

We have been to Tapas Revolution in Sheffield's Meadowhall a few times previously and had good food. However we went there again on Saturday 30th Dec '23. VERY DISAPPOINTING!! They had got the Belly Pork back on the menu (which was outmr go to favourite with a mojo verde sauce & another dark mojo sauce on it) but they have changed it and it is now on a bed of chickpea puree which does nothing for it, they have taken one of its previous sauces (the dark mojo sauce) and it was overcooked! The Croquette Jambon were overcooked and dry, the prawns were bland even though they were in garlic butter (they were lacking seasoning) and the Chrizo was kind of mushy and not very pleasant. Spent £110 on a meal that we wish we hadn't ordered when we left. Sadly based on this experience we won't be going back!!

No customer service, empty tables!

We usually eat here when In Birmingham and the food has always been good. Turned up earlier this evening, lots of empty tables and were informed bookings only. The lady was rude also. Booked online, went back and was told rudely that "she handles the bookings in the morning" I stated it would be nice if they updated their booking system! Judging by recent reviews we dodged a bullet!

Poor attempt at recreating a bit of Spain. Been here before and had great food but what has happened. Watered down sangria, half fried potatas bravas. Not crispy calamari. Meatballs without the signature tomato sauce instead served with cubes butternut squash and dressed with mayonnaise!!!!!. I’d like to know where is Spain they serve the dish of chorizo as a whole sausage with black pudding? This place should not be called Tapas revolution? More like tapas destruction and stagnation!!!! Avoid. And complain about substandard products.

Westfield “restaurant”

Went to the Westfield restaurant. The food was terrible, over microwaved and greasy. It was inedible in all honesty. Seats were ripped and tatty, some of the staff were surly, some were busy flirting with other customers and one was lovely. Possibly the worst place I’ve eaten.. including Bosnia in the 90’s.

Ambience was fine and waiter/server… albeit on his own was attentive and on point. However, the food was soo bland and tasteless. We paid £87 which included a 12.5% service charge!! We had a selection of tapas including prawns , squid, pork belly to name a few but it all lacked any flavour or ooomph. Really disappointed with the whole meal!!

Tapas revolution

Tapas revolution, lakeside.

Was seated when it was relatively quiet, was sat no problem and made initial order no problem.

Drink bought to the table. Advertised as decorated with candy floss, this wasn’t there. Also spilt on route to the table meaning when lifting the cup the drink was dripping from it so had to wipe up etc.

When mains came I asked for a coke and only received after following up 10 minutes after the fact (thought maybe this was a mistake, they happen so whatever).

Ordered the steak, while nice I ordered rare what I received was medium to well done but given i had an appointment in the centre to make I did not send back.

My partner ordered the burgers, which per other comments are small in size.

Then asked for the bill and was again just sat there waiting and nobody bought us the bill.
Complete lack of communication despite having ample staff… felt like anything we asked for was ignored.

Eventually walked to the bar to settle the bill (waited 5ish minutes, as mentioned it was not busy and people were wiping tables etc)

While settling the bill one of the waitresses and bar stuff were arguing over a table not being closed in the system properly.

Only to see a 12.5% service charge automatically applied… what service, based on my experience?

It would have been a wasted argument so paid and left. Will not be returning despite the tapas dishes being quite nice but again, small versus price.

Overpriced and underwhelming🥴

Went to the restaurant in Lakeside Shopping Complex. Lovely location on the Boardwalk. Unfortunately we were disappointed in the meal. We ordered two starters and two mains which virtually arrived at the same time 🤔My Burgers ( I admit they were listed as mini burgers ) were not much more than a mouthful each and the Steak although it was delicious( according to my wife) had cold mushrooms and fries were an extra! Only two staff waiting on and they did their best - unfortunately came away feeling we were ripped off. We chose this restaurant as Meerkat list it as two for the price of one - but most things are excluded so the discount only applied to the starters. Afraid we won’t be returning - overpriced and underwhelming🥴

Be warned- tiny portions but expensive.

Myself, a friend and our two boys went to Tapas Revolution in Bluewater. I chose this restaurant as always had lovely meals previous and they had emailed me with a free bottle of cava for my birthday.
No kids menus anymore, they have now stopped this and only 1 or 2 dishes that are not spicy that the children could eat. Think bread and meatballs.
Service not great at all.
Bill was over £100 (not including any drinks) and the kids were still hungry so had to feed them after. So basically £50 per adult.
The portions are ridiculously small. Not even 1 per person is enough. I know tapas is meant to be small but this was appalling.
Emails for the cava wouldnt work, had to go into another restaurant to see if connecting to their internet would work. Member of staff in Tapas Revolution said “try walking around” to get signal. I even sent the email to my friend to see if she could open it but she couldnt. It was an error with the actual voucher and nothing to do with the internet. The first lady said I cant give it to you without the voucher. The second lady agreed to give it to us (halfway during the meal) but said can we still keep trying to get the voucher.
The meal was not relaxing, the service was poor, had two hungry kids and the food was not even that great.
As if that wasnt enough, I did the feedback form online. Didnt get any form of response. I posted on Instagram that the portions are tiny, I could see quite a few others had also posted this. When I next checked, all the commemts had been removed (apart from the ones praising the restaurant of course) and I had been blocked.
Absolutely shocking. The public deserve the right to see both constructive and positive comments and then decide if they would still like to dine.
Would strongly reommemd checking menu before you go because the prices have also gone up.
The photos on instragram are not what you get at the restaurant.

Avoid!

This was my first visit to this 'restaurant' and it will be the last. The menu is extremely limited and I struggled to find anything remotely acceptable to my tastes. I only stayed as I was with a party of friends for a pre-Christmas meet-up. What I ended up with was tasteless and forgettable. Friends who shared the £30 paella received a not-exactly-large pan of rice with a (very) few pieces of protein on the top. Overpriced and over-rated. No wonder it was empty.

The worse service I have ever experienced

We have tried this restaurant before and it was lovely but will not be returning.
A waitress noticed we had been given some of our food and told our waitress we didn't have a plate or knife and fork to which she just shrugged and carried o with other tables we didnt see her again at our table. I then had to ask another waiter for the cutlery and plates. By the time we started eating the food was freezing. We ate whay we could of the bread potatoes and mushrooms before the meatballs arrived. The 2nd meat dish didn't arrive. When it came to the bill I told the waiter we had a meal missing but he still bought the receipt which included the missing dish. I asked to see the manager who didn't come instead the waiter took off 5 pound. There was a service charge added to the bill which was not deserved. We spent 43 pound and walked away hungry Awful service. Another customer had oil spilt on her coat by the waiter she asked for a cloth and he walked past me giggling and making funny noises.
