Worst customer service ever!
Worst customer service ever!
I started my treatment with Smile Direct in October last year, at the end of the treatment I had to request a touch up as the result was far from what they promised. At the end of my 1st touch up I had to request a 2nd touch up and again it didn’t work. I use the aligners according to the instructions but they never fit properly and hurt a lot during the nearly 1 year using them.
I requested a cancellation and a refund! After many email (most of them never answered) I finally agreed with my cancellation and with the refund they offered.
It’s been more than 10 days since I have agreed and I have no answers from the account manager. And every time I call asking for the simple answer of “when will they pay me” they say that it’s in 4 to 6 days and if I keep calling the payment will be even more delayed as the timeframe starts all over again.
The attendants are not keen to help at all, always pushing you to send an email to the accountant (that never answer).
Not only a poor product but a poor customer service.
It’s been a frustrating experience, nearly 1 year to have no results. Total waist of time and money.

!!!!!HUGE SCAM AVOID LIKE…
!!!!!HUGE SCAM AVOID LIKE PLAGUE!!!!!!!!
I will write a long review and explain exactly how this scam works, so that hopefully no one else gets tricked the way I did.
Smile Direct Club is a massive scam, and even though I am usually very careful while reading reviews, I myself also got scammed. The reason for this is that ALL of the positive reviews about Smile Direct are based on the very first free apointment you get. After your first free apointment, they send you a text message asking you to leave a good review.
If you look into ALL the negative reviews, not only on Smile direct website but on Reddit, WhatClinic, Trustpilot, you will be absolutely horrified on what the actual "treatment" does to you, and on how Smile Direct STEALS YOUR MONEY EVEN THOUGH YOU DID NOT PURCHASE THE PRODUCT.
Let me explain: I looked up smile direct before booking the first free appointment, the reviews seemed OK, I thought it's fine, a free apointment doesn't make me commit to anything.
Now, in order to secure your apointment, they request your credit card details "in case you do not show up", you'd be charged 25e for a no show up fee. Everything goes well there, and at the end of the apointment, as Serena is feeding me infos, she's getting me to sign a numeric form, just a formality to state that I've been here she says, which doesn't engage in anything and obviously I will not be charged. 5 days after the free apointment, they are meant to get back to you with a treatment plan, and then it is up to you if you'd like to go ahead with the treatment. After my first free apointment, I went deep into the reviews as I would do if I were to commit to a long and pricy treatment, and I was absolutely horrified to discover that all the positive reviews were either fake, or based only on the very 1st free apointment. I found hundreds of horrible reviews with people that have been victim of smile direct, got charged thousand of euros without purchasing the treatment, or people who have gone ahead with the treatment and got the most horrible lifetime damages (teeth breaking, falling off, gum inflammation, root canal inflamed). These people not only lost tons of money and energy into this, but got a life time health damage, and in the end still had to go ahead with a real treatment such as Invisalign (if you care about your health, please chose that instead of Smile Direct). Long story short, the only reason while Smile Direct is half the normal price, is because they take the professionals out of the equation. No Dentist or Orthodontics are involved at any point, no check up, which is why this ends up as a disaster, but yeah, it is cheaper of course.
I obviously decided to NOT go ahead with the treatment, and, 5 days later, I was horrified to discover that I had just been charged 1979e on my bank account, the one I had given ONLY in order to book and secure my first free apointment.
After a lot of stress, fighting in between my bank and the customer service, I had an agent on the line telling me " ah yes you probably signed the form, ok I'll request a refund", just as casual as that. Meaning, they scam people that way every single day, and some people I guess just give up and decide to get the treatment as they have been charged already.
Please please please, spread the word, if you look up "Smile direct Scam" you can even find articles from the BBC about it (and that's the same for Smile Direct Club Ireland, UK, etc). Please save yourself money, time, energy, and most importantly health, and do NOT even go for a first "free apointment", as I can assure you it is first NOT free, they WILL charge you the full price of the treatment either you want it or not, and they will damage your health forever if you decide to take the treatment.
Money comes and goes, but you only get 1 pair of teeth. Once it's damaged, often enough there's no way back.

UPDATE: STILL THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE EVER
I contacted the company on septemebr 29th to cancel my treatment. It is now over a month later and it still has not been cancelled. The last time the “account manager” contacted me was 26th of October and was told I’d hear something in 4-6 business days?! No surprise nothing. And they still have had the adulatory to deduct my account of €65 yesterday. A horrible company who wants to scam people and take their money since they are in a class action lawsuit. And hey if “dana” replies under this saying to email their customer service. I have and heard nothing. How about you contact me and get this sorted. I’m sick and tired of this scam of a company.

Got my braces a few years ago
Got my braces a few years ago, had nothing but problems. Tried to contact them 100s of times no response. You can't even email them anymore, because there mailbox is full. Went to look for new retainers and they told me my time had run out, even though I have been trying to contact them for over a year. Dentists here wont go near my teeth because I have been using them. Stay away worst customer service in history.
