destroyed my house purchase plans
After 9 months of trying to buy a property managed by this company, I have had to walk away and am now left destitute. This company are imcompetent, negligent and don't care about the owners that pay them. My solicitors chased for months for a signature on a Deed of Variance that the vendor forked out thousands of pounds for. But, after months of chasing (3 of them living on sofas and out of bags) I have had to move on. Good luck to anyone who wants to buy a property run by this disgusting management company or to anyone hoping to sell their property run by this company. They should be prosecuted and I'll be raising flags with the property Umbudsman!
As sad as it feels to have to walk away from a property I really liked and was patiently waiting for, I also feel like I dodged a bullet!
Delivered on my requested paperwork.
I needed an important piece of paperwork signed, I spoke to Helen and she walked me through the steps I needed to do - The best part was she set my expectation of when I would hear back and delivered in the time frame.
Thank you Helen if you read this 😇
If you’re a leaseholder
If you’re a leaseholder, know your rights — you can apply for the Right to Manage (look it up) and take control away from companies like this. My experience with them has been extremely disappointing. Don’t just put up with poor management — you have the power to take back control and move on.
Professional and helpful
After frustrations with another company, I have spoken to Joel and Mark at Pier, regarding my property. They have been excellent, dealing with my queries promptly. They are professional and knowledgeable about the areas that I requested information about and have taken the time to explain and advise where appropriate.
Quick turnarounds & pleasant
Helen was super helpful in getting all our documents ready for our sale. She made sure we met our deadlines by processing the necessary forms and certificates quickly, and was very easy to communicate with/ efficient and pleasant to work with. I was very impressed with her turnaround times and super appreciative of all her help in helping us reach completion!

Annice you are a Superstar!
Just want to say a huge thank you to Annice - she has gone above and beyond helping us with all the details of the sale of our property. Her response time has been super efficient and she has helped to make a very stressful time feel a little lighter.

Robbing, horrible 'company'
If I could give minus I would, disgraceful!
Funny how when there's an honest TERRIBLE review of your company on here there's suddenly 3-4 new 5 star (fake) reviews pop up. Shows what a scam this company is. They will ignore everything you have to say unless you owe them money for some made up charge or fee then they will hound you relentlessly until you're forced to pay it. Then they will go back to ignoring you / letting your property fall into disarray and neglect it but OFCOURSE THEY WILL TAKE ALL YOUR MONEY FOR 'MANAGEMENT FEES'.
Also, how an earth do you possibly justify the insurance premiums? There is absolutely no way it costs as much as you charge to insure a flat. You are day light robbers, hope the government shut you down!
Awful, awful, awful company. Avoid at all costs, let's hope your kind of company eventually close down after government reforms

I cannot explain how amazing pier management has been, especially Helen Burns. She has kept me sane throughout my sale process and has been on hand whenever I have had further queries and questions. I cannot thank Helen enough for her patience and empathy aswell as her prompt responses and she really sticks to her word. A M A Z I N G is all I can say.
Thank you Helen Burns at Pier Management, you have stopped a pregnant hormonal woman from having a meltdown and I cannot thank you enough for your help!! Absolute asset to the pier management team!!

What an absolute pleasure it was to call Pier yesterday. The call was answered quickly by Helen, she was so lovely and helpful. I am in the process of selling my maisonette which is a very stressful time and Helen was able to assist me, there was no issues or drama she understood all that was said. She had gathered up all the information and sent it to me by email in less than an hour. I just want to thank Helen for helping and taking a little of the stress away.
Pier Management
I have lived in my property for over 20 years and for the first time ever, when asking questions of Pier Management, I have had knowledgeable, supportive and above all, courteous responses from Pier regarding my login details and payment of invoices! Louie was actually extremely helpful, very friendly and at all times retained a professional manner.
Pleasant approach fron Pier Management
Unreasonable admin costs plus big cost increases
They are my freeholder for 5 years now - with increasing insurance premiums and an inexplicable annual admin fee that they can't explain. Their online portal hasn't worked for years - I suspect deliberately so you are unable to put your finger on the increases.
I've gotten very generic responses in the past from them just "assuring" me with anything but actual numbers.
The worst Company I have ever had the…
The worst Company I have ever had the displeasure to deal with.
Ground rent payment schedules and their failings to even send invoices have been a common issue with this company. It was something I was aware of before buying a property. Due to this, I even had the lease agreement changed and rewritten with them, to allow for them not to take me to court without legal notice, which was previously not written in the lease.
However, all this seems to be in vain.
Having checked my post box on the 13th June and not having any post, to going out of the country for a week and checking my post box when I returned on the 23rd June to find two letters one from Pier management as a reminder letter telling me ground rent was due even though I received no invoice and I already had late fees added on (dated the 14th May) and one from Property debt collection limited (Dated the 11th June) you can understand my frustration and shock. As I have never received any other letters or emails from Pier management apart from this one.
The prepaid letter I had previously sent to Pier management with all my current email address and phone number was mysteriously “never received by them”. Due to this, my account was not updated, and they “could not email me and send me correct invoices”. However, I did phone to confirm when I moved into the property that there was an update email to contact me via, as well as a postal address when setting up the account. But clearly, all my efforts were in vain to try and avoid a situation like this.
You can understand my distress and frustration with Pier management. Having taken active steps to ensure this issue would not happen and yet it has.
Due to poor communication and a lack of professionalism when dealing with phone calls from this company, I am forced to not only pay a very large fee to a debt collector
But also write to the owner of the ground, property and my legal advisor.
If I could do it all again, I would not have even bothered buying the property, knowing the ground rent was managed by Pier management
Pier Management are the managing agents of my leasehold flat
Pier Management are the managing agents for Ground Rent Residential, the freeholder, of my leasehold flat. Over the years they have repeatedly ignored requests for suppliers invoices and insurance schedules. They have repeatedly invoiced me for buildings insurance and works for the entire building or incorrectly apportioned amounts. They have added late payment charges when they do not receive payments and refuse to furnish me with invoices for work they say has been carried out. They persistently ignore reports of concerns about the condition of the common areas and because of their lack of action I now have serious issues in my flat, preventing me from renting it out. They have now passed my account to another managing agent, Centrick, who have raised a court case against me for Pier Management’s disputed accounts. The freeholder have not upheld their responsibilities and use the fact that most leaseholder will be unwilling to go to court to challenge unfair charges by managing agents acting for freeholders.
No headache
The service and speed in which my query was dealt with was first class, Theresa was very helpful and sorted the problem out without any problem and called back as promised, I would have no problem in recommending them again.
Excellent response
I contacted Annica Brant and she was very efficient on the telephone and true to her word emailed everything we spoke about. She is a real asset to the company
Quick and professional response
I was answered quickly and although the lady could not give me an answer she confirmed my email and sent the documents and explanation within the hour. This was important to me because I am in the middle of selling the property.
