Avoid at all costs!! Paul is incredibly rude and unprofessional. The 30 year guarantee they provide is complete nonsense and when we reached out to him when we had further issues after the damp proofing he not only ignored our calls but blocked our numbers! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
Avoid London Damp Specialists at all costs. Paul and James McLaughlin are completely unprofessional and unreliable. They arrived late on the scheduled day (ignoring all calls made on the day they were meant to arrive), carried out the work to a poor standard, and within months the damp returned worse than before. Despite offering a 30-year guarantee, they have refused to honour it, ignoring all emails and phone calls.
The lack of accountability and customer service is shocking — once they’ve taken your payment (over £5000!), they disappear. This company is nothing short of a scam. Do NOT waste your time or money.
AVOID AT ALL COST. Following a buyers survey highlighting high damp meter readings in 3 room, we asked Paul to survey the property to understand where the issues were coming from and what remedial word would be needed. £240 later and his report is not worth the paper is written on. He spent 5min in the property, only went to 1 room, took no damp readings and sent us a report claiming there was no other damp in the property. He was asked to ring before surveying the property so we could discuss our concern. Didn't do that or respond to emails/calls. This guy is a cowboy. PS: the name of the business is London Damp Specialist (not Notify NYC as it says on here - will contact trustpilot on this)
AVOID. Please note this title is misleading. Paul at London Damp Specialist Ltd is the focus of these reviews and our experience was the same. The service he offers is a complete scam. Takes your money and then no communication. We did not proceed with damp proofing works but paid over £200 for a damp report that told us less than the homebuyers report had highlighted. Complete waste of money and now no further forward and back to square one.
Similar experience to those described!! Paul is nothing short of criminal! He did damp proofing works for me and he made such a shambles of it that damp patches simply never dried out.
All his talk about builders not knowing what they are doing when it is actually him who is clueless and needs to be prosecuted for fraud.
He took the extra payment for the additional insurance and he never took the policy out. I so wish I have search this forum before I had him do the works for me.
When I had a problem with the walls not drying after his works he also told me he was on holiday for a month! Spending the thousand of pounds he fraudulently takes from customers!
I am not going to rest until he faces court and is ruined! If any one on the forum wants to join forces to bring tie charlatan to account then happy to do so
Terrible company, damp is back, no guarentee, no follow-up care. TOTAL SCAM, avoid Paul at all costs
Total fraud. I spent £8,500 having my walls damp proofed and paid an extra £290 for a 30 year guarantee only to see damp emerge within one week, and upon calling/emailing relentlessly - Paul initially said he was on holiday and I should use polyfiller myself, and subsequently decided to cut off my calls.
I am now pursuing with Citizens advice, local council court and will not rest until this fraudulent criminal is out of business.
It is absolutely astonishing how Paul can function with his criminal conscience.
USeless. damp came back less than a year later, cannot get hold of paul the owner/manager for love nor money.
Total waste of time and energy. They came to property and provided us with a quote that we were happy with. We scheduled the works to commence at their earliest convenience, which was a month later. On their advice, and in preparation to them arriving to the flat, I moved everything out of my bedroom (furniture, clothe, curtains, etc). I also took half a day off from work so that I could give them access but to my dismay they never showed up. They went radio silence despite having confirmed the date and never replied to the many emails and VMs we left. Honestly, save yourself some time and don’t bother, highly unprofessional. I have now reached out to a different company and they were able to schedule the works within 5 days.
