Beware and Stay away!!!!

Beware and Stay away!!!!

We had our door locked with key inside by mistake. Called up this scammers company as they popped up on google in my area. Guy turned up late and did nothing at all. Pretty much tried what we have been doing for hours. Advising us we need to break lock and cost is £169. We refused and said try opening our back door which has simple lock and this guy SERGEY did not want to do that either. Did not even try with any of his tools. Wanted to charge us £39 for call out and we refused to pay and said you have done nothing and we're not paying for come down and advise. Then he start swaering and got tools out and started opening the door. Within 2 mins he opened it with not a lot effort. This time wanted to charge us £100 for his service. We refused and called his manager kristin. She advised £66 + vat on the call but this guy SERGEY charged us £102 out of nowhere including and said i had to use technique to oopen this door and its a special type of lock and all rubbish.
This guy in the beginning did not even try anyrhing and as soon as we refused to pay call put charge he started using his techniques to open door. Shameless guy and his manager who never called me back. I have tried calling back few times and asked us to raise it to our manager. My wife and kids were alone at home since i was out but this shameless guy started swearing and chattering something on his own.

BEWARE OF THEM AND DO NOT USE ANY OF THEIR SERVICES. DONT RECOMMEND THIS SCAMMERS. THEY JUST WANT TO CHARGE FOR STUPID LITTLE JOBS.

Fraudulent thieves

Fraudulent thieves. Having upsold me a “top-end” cylinder lock, it later transpired they charged a 30x markup on a massively basic lock.

Avoid! Prices go up and up

Emergency callout after locking myself out. Was told it would be £55 for a simple lock on the phone. When the locksmith arrived, I was told I didn't have a simple lock so it would be £195 + the £55 callout charge + VAT! I questioned this with the person on the phone who hung up on me when I asked why I wasn't informed of the callout charge or why they were quoting prices ex-VAT. I called a second time and they pretended they couldn't hear me. The locksmith got me in but I feel ripped off and there was zero customer service.

Avoid avoid avoid!!

Avoid avoid avoid!!! This company intimidated my mum who is in her 70’s. Scared the life out of her demanding money and saying they’d call the police if she couldn’t give them ID. She was at my house while I was away. Told her they’d be waiting outside until I returned home etc. she was traumatised and so upset. Will be reporting them. Not that it’ll help but please don’t use these people to help you.

Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs! Awful company. They advertised prices from £39. I needed a locksmith to open my door after locking myself out. A very simple job. When they arrived the locksmith told me it would cost £189. I questioned this as it seemed very expensive but he said that it included the call out charge. I had no phone charge so couldn't call another company and I felt that he would charge me the call out fee even if I declined the work. It took 2 seconds for him to open the door. I paid by card on his card machine which didn't have a screen so it didn't show the amount being paid and I was told I would recieve a text with the receipt and expected it to be £189. However I was shocked and angry when the text invoice showed that I had been charged £226.80 as he didn't mention that the £189 didn't include the VAT. When I phoned the company and tried to complain that I had been missold the service they told me to email an email address which kept bouncing back.

Due to an issue with the rim lock latch…

Due to an issue with the rim lock latch I was locked out of my flat. I usually have my guy, but he was away this weekend. As I needed to get in the flat I called this company as it was the first in Google. However, when the guy showed up he quoted me £1294(!) - call-out fee, open the door and replace the rim lock. I said this was rubbish, but just to open the door (I had to get in the flat) I paid him £520. Once inside the flat I called out a local (Brighton) locksmith who said that the guy from 24/7 was not even drilling in the right place hence the need to use a mini crowbar to open my door. He quoted me £200 to replace the rim lock. Avoid.

AVOID 2 hours of faffing and £250…

AVOID 2 hours of faffing and £250 later he left me with no locking mechanism and wanted another £250 to fit a lock. Told him to leave, women on the phone from the call centre put the phone down on me after I complained. Barricaded my door overnight to secure and someone fix the next day in 10 minutes.
Company needs shutting down!

SCAM DO NOT USE

Absolutely awful company, who massively oversell or missell and then break your door!

I locked myself out of my house with the keys in the door and was in the rain, so clicked on the first ad. That was for this company. I was quoted £39 for a callout and they turned up 30 mins later.

What should have been a simple job using a letterbox tool turned, they told me they have to drill through the lock. Overall, this cost me nearly £200.

They then charged me another £215 for the lock and the labour, then added VAT on top. In the process of all this, they drilled through my door gearbox meaning I can only open the door from one side.

The whole process cost me £637!

Absolute waste of time, waste of money, and a scam of a company.

The company that does the fitting was called Fixtoon; looking at their company's house, they are being dissolved, and their VAT number is for a different business.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

THIS COMPANY DESERVES NO STARS!!!

THIS COMPANY DESERVES NO STARS!!!

I had a deadlock that needed changing on my front door but the lock was too small. He then brought a company lock which was £180 and told me the labour and call out charge, I was not informed of the call out and labour charge prior to this. The receptionist said I will be told when the locksmith arrives which is the first issue.

I asked him to return my old lock and I will wait until I can get money for a better lock. There was a lot of back and forth about how good the company lock was but after remaining adamant that I didn't not want it he put my lock back on. He left the property before testing the lock and allowing me to test the lock. When I tested it, the lock was difficult to turn so I called back and asked if he could return to my property to fix the lock. He said he would return and called me when he was outside but was not outside my property. I called him back and asked if he was returning to which he said he would call me back. I reported this to the office and he called me back whilst I was on the call.

Upon discussing my issue further with him, he then told me to use a screwdriver and hammer to fix the issue because he had fixed it the way it should be and not the way it was previously done. After the back and forth of my explaining my issue and wanting my money back if I had to fix it, he then called me a f**king s**t and hung up the phone one me.

Disgusting service and I will be taking it further! Avoid at all costs!!!

Scam company

Scam company! Quoted £1000 +vat to change two locks. When I said to just change the one lock which was ‘less complicated’ they quoted £380 +vat. I said I would leave it and look elsewhere they then said they can do both locks for £600 +vat. £400 less than the original quote! Then tried charging me a call out even though I was informed there wouldn’t be a fee if I wasn’t happy with the estimate. Avoid at all costs!

Gave 2 stars as I was able to get in

Gave 2 stars as I was able to get in. However, the guy took an hour to arrive, charged a crazy amount (£135 to use a piece of cardboard and wd40, and about 5 mins worth of time). Also, the website said it would give 10% off if found through website. The guy refused to honour this and said this is the price. Really poor value, would 100% recommend to look elsewhere.

The locksmith sent to me was from…

The locksmith sent to me was from DIYBEST LTD . He was at my house for 20 minutes had to break into 1 lock as lock unpicking machine did not work as there was a second lock he opened this in 10-15 second. The locksmith charges £69 for a callout fee, £79 for labour, £210 for opening 2 locks ( 20 minute work maximum including installtion of one new lock and effectively charged me for labour twice) then charged £145 for a new lock - with VAT that came to £603.60 - Absolutely outrageous - do not use this company disgusting profiteering!

Scammers

I wish I hadn't been abroad when my girlfriend needed a locksmith and found this website. Clearly the reviews therein are fake - just look at the ones on Trustpilot for comparison...

These gentlemen (real company name Tradespex Ltd) and lady (on the phone) fooled her at every turn, charging her ~£600 for a routine fix which they oversold as an urgent lock change. Then they guaranteed (over the phone) a free-of-charge follow-up a few days later, which they then duly forced us, once on site, to pay ~£200 for.

I followed up using their email address on their invoices. Inactive. I called them and asked for an alternate address. The line "dropped" 3 times in a row before someone else picked up and I finally got an address to contact. Two weeks (and a few exchanges) later, I have zero faith that I will ever see my money back, at the very least for the follow-up call that they duped my girlfriend into believing would be free of charge.

Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Clearly a scam

Clearly a scam. As another reviewer mentioned, called the number and they asked no questions, just for post code, address. Bloke showed up and pretended to fiddle with the lock with a lockpick set, then said he’d have to drill it and that it would cost £200 for a new lock. Stopped him there, paid his call-out fee of £58 so he’d go away and called a real locksmith who told me if he had to drill it, it would be £80. He didn’t have to drill it because he wasn’t a scam artist and was able to open it within minutes.

Do not use, even if desperate

My key broke in the lock. I called this number and they arranged for a local locksmith to attend within 30mins and advised on a £55 call out fee. Locksmith from ‘tradespex’ (Brighton) arrived (late) and advised that the lock would require drilling and it would cost an additional £155. I thanked him but said NO as I could buy a drill and a new lock for less. He then said (on the QT) that he could drill it for £40 cash! I paid the call out fee and sent him on his merry way
