Koho cannot be trusted to do anything…
Koho cannot be trusted to do anything right. They continously make the same "mistakes" every month and then it's impossible to get any decent customer service. Oh, but if you're willing to pay MORE than a bank charges monthly, you get a dedicated customer service line to cut through all the BS they force on all their other customers. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. They're more greedy than the big banks, when they're supposed to be an alternative. Total screw ups!
If I could rate -zero I would terrible…
If I could rate -zero I would terrible company they allowed fraudulent transactions go through took a month to try and settle they settled 3 out of 10 transactions and apparently are still investigating umm really that’s makes no sense they were all done at the same time from the same merchant they still owe me 129.14$ and won’t return it , no one is able to get pay later it’s just there , the credit building doesn’t work don’t waste your money
The worst run company I have ever seen
What a horrific experience I have had with this company. I tired numerous times to make a payment on my account but their system kept declining the payment and sending it back to my bank account. Then they reported to Equifax that I missed a payment and I lost 52 credit points because of their faulty payment system. It took me forever to finally talk to a customer service person and they kept saying that my account which was some absurd email address I had never seen before. And so the only way I was able to make a payment was to send an email transfer to this ridiculous email address. What a joke!!! I signed up to the horrible company to improve my credit and it absolute crushed all the good I did with other viable companies. If you do business with this company after reading this, you deserve to get soaked by this bogus company. I'm so upset!!!!!! I wish I would have read the reviews on Trust pilot before I did business with them.
Koho is a shit
Koho is a shit, I told I don't like the credit building but still putting my deposit to that, it is a scam. Don't try this kind of banking. This is a big headache, it will not help us.

Not off to a good start here...can’t log into app, or from PC, it keeps making me resign back in over & over without letting me in! Zero customer service, you can't speak to anyone on the phone. All they say, is to use their chat to tank to someone but you cant even log in to use it!!! Beyond annoying! I think I am going to find a different pay as you go card, as this one sucks!!!!!!!
KOHO is a shit show nightmare
KOHO is a shit show nightmare
Stay away asap
How did they manage to intercept e-transfers? 1500 gone until day time to talk to interact and my bank to find out how to block them.
I had auto deposit all set up, and they some how intercepted it.
There’s gotta be some kind of fraud charges there. Do not sign up , or you will regret it.
Disgraceful After Over Five Years With Them
This event lasted over a couple of days. KOHO updated their app again on the 10/09/25 in the evening. I had accessed my account earlier in the day. That evening, I was not able to access the account on the app. When I tried the next day, I still had the same issue. I found I could access the website. So, I contacted them and explained the issue.
They informed me that I was using the wrong email, which I knew was not correct as I had been using the same one for ages - though I signed up with a different one initially. So, I tried the other one and it accepted that but not the password. It would not send me a link to update my password because it was the wrong email on file - of course it was, I had been using the correct one for years. Then, after hours of this ongoing issue, and explaining the same thing occurred in July when they updated their app then, too. Suddenly, they told me there was odd activity on my account. Funny, I had used it to buy flowers for a friend whose spouse had died the week before. And, I stated that. Then, they told me, "We cannot cancel your account while you have funds in it. You need to withdraw them first." I would if I could access them. Then, the told me, "You need to provide valid government id with you holding it beside your face." I said, that would not be necessary as I had been a customer for over 5 years, as well, my government pensions were direct deposited every month, and my 'at the time I signed up' valid id was on file. Then, they said, "To **re-open** your account, you need to provide that to us." I am confused, "If you can't close it with my funds in there, how did you close it?" Long and short, they kept my over $200.00 that was still in the account.
I expressed that I did not wish anymore contact with them. Truthfully, my blood pressure was rising, and I was feeling ill from all of the run around, and passing me off to other agents. I think I had a total of 5 maybe.
I did express they went from being a gem in my eyes, who I had promoted widely, to being the thorn in my side, that I needed to get rid of to return to calmness.
I used Koho for a few years at first it…
I used Koho for a few years at first it was good over time it has become a censorship app and they seem to forget it is the client's money not theirs. They now pick and choose what purchase of mine should be blocked. I think they have been taken over by the CCP.
This is a highly manipulative company…
This is a highly manipulative company and i will like to warn everyone to proceed with caution . The overall process with customer support is poor. Reading up about SPACE BANK and getting a scoop on how it works changed everything for me . I smile every week with a very good pay since i made the transition .
Worst app and worst customer service.
Worst app and worst customer service.
I’ve used Koho for years for daily…
I’ve used Koho for years for daily spending and saving. The app is easy, offers real-time alerts, and cashback. When I faced fraud, Koho resolved it swiftly and refunded me, increasing my trust. It’s not a full bank but suits my daily needs.
I got the app to build my credit
I got the app to build my credit, they make you take a $10 loan to report. Long story short the pre paid card ran out of money and now I can’t buy a house because of a $10 loan from KOHO because they sent it to collections.
I received an offer to get $100…
I received an offer to get $100 overdraft limit.
Here is what is wrong $10 a month is more than my $1000 of limit I used $ $670 and my interest was only $ 24 over the time it was paid back in a year give and take so where does $120 a year is justified.
Simply thieves.

What a complete group of fall Downs…
What a complete group of fall Downs they're not even a bank but they require more identification then it takes to get a legitimate credit card not to mention it's your money it's prepaid they should be giving me documentation supporting that they are who they say they are because it's my money I'm the one taking the risk so that being said they don't follow the rules of the fcac they violate Canadians rights and their client services is garbage trying to speak to one of them takes like 3 days to answer one question what kind of customer service actually back burners their clients and responds at their own convenience who works for who companies like this that have no respect for their clients are just sickening and I mean the clients are the ones responsible for that because they let the tail wag the dog you give them power but conforming to their protocols they're not a bank they're just a prepaid credit card company that for some reason they feel that they supersede what the government of Canada considers acceptable identification
You're out of luck if you can't access SMS
They used to be very good, and were very helpful when one of my cards was misused for an ongoing subscription I had already cancelled.
Unfortunately, they seem to have gone downhill. I had to contact them recently as I'm not able to access my Canadian phone number due to being overseas (expat) and Koho was insistent that I had to use that number to verify, even though I have already done so with my password, PIN, Face ID, and even taking a video selfie to prove I'm me. They refused to change my 2FA method to an authenticator app, and there's no way for me to do this myself without that phone number. Support were useless; the first one I spoke to didn't even seem to understand the problem, and the second did at first, then offered suggestions which implied that he didn't, and ultimately refused to help, so now I cannot manage my own account until I regain access to a phone number to which I most likely never will regain access.
I'll be cancelling my account (assuming they even let me do that) as having everything tied to a single phone number which is on a device which can be easily lost or stolen, and then providing no way to circumvent that when that access is unavailable, is far too precarious for me to feel safe having any money held by this service.
worst company ever it's been a Month i…
worst company ever it's been a Month i and waiting for my deposit back i will definitely get it back and close the account and never recommend koho to anyone. In this economy how can you hold someone money for a Month. it's time to sue this company
