Cafe Peace - Disappointed by Consistently Poor Service
I’ve visited Cafe Peace a few times, and while I’ve generally enjoyed the food and atmosphere, my last two visits left me quite disappointed due to the behavior of one particular staff member.
The first incident was during the Easter holiday, when I came in for breakfast with a friend. One of the staff members appeared visibly unhappy - her tone and her facial expression was unwelcoming. I chose to give her the benefit of the doubt, assuming she might not have been thrilled about working during the holidays. (Additionally, I ordered a glass of champagne with my breakfast, but it was served in a regular wine glass instead of a proper champagne flute.).. I didn’t make a big deal out of it, especially since the other staff were friendly and I still had a good time catching up with my friend.
However, I encountered the same staff member again today, and unfortunately, the experience was very similar. I came in around 14:00 with another friend for lunch. The waitress who served us was friendly and accommodating, even helping us find a table upstairs. We had a nice meal and were in good spirits.
The issue arose when we went downstairs to pay. The same staff member from Easter was at the cashier. When my friend told her we had been seated upstairs and were ready to pay, she asked if we had fish and chips. I heard only "fish and chips" and confirmed it, not realizing she had also mentioned another dish we didn’t order. Her response was unnecessarily sharp, pointing out we answered incorrectly in a tone that felt rude and dismissive.
There were only two tables upstairs at the time - ours and another group who also had fish and chips - so it’s understandable that there might have been some confusion. But what’s not acceptable is the attitude and lack of professionalism in her interaction with us. We were paying customers and deserved to be treated respectfully.
After two unpleasant encounters in just three weeks, I’ve decided not to return to Cafe Peace. There are many other cafes in Aalborg that offer both good food and a welcoming atmosphere. Consistently poor service, even from just one staff member, is enough to lose a customer.

Delicious Food - Every dish we tried was a culinary delight, from the freshly prepared brunch to the exquisite coffee made with specially selected beans.

High Flexibility - Despite our group of 10 making a reservation for the wrong day, the staff quickly resolved the issue and set up a new table for us. Their flexibility and problem-solving skills are truly commendable.

Cafe Peace not only provides excellent food and service but also goes above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience for their guests.
