They are scammers

They are scammers
The cars are selling more than what actually would sell in garages
I don’t think anybody bids those
They just bid themselves to a maximum sale of the cars
I’ve heard them pressing the keyboard when selling it’s a big jump
I don’t ever think a dealer or a private would bid those cars more on what’s actually valued
Then you see the same car again again selling
They are big scammers
Avoid

Bca car auctions are absolute scammers…

Bca car auctions are absolute scammers in a way of deceiving buyers not revealing the truth in regards to mechanical & electrical of vehicles!
I’ve been a Bca member for over 20 years and a black card holder buying over 600 units yearly.
After Covid Bca became online auctions only, for them it’s the best move for saving £££ on staff BUT has became very dishonest expensive and should be avoided!
I bought a few vehicles with all green reports and also announced by the auctioneers what turned down to be unroadworthy and barely made it out the auction gates!!
I put in a formal complaints on various occasions but just got fobbed off every time!!
My recommendations is to AVOID if you don’t want to lose money or buy approved vehicles only which normally be under 3 years old!!
WHAT A JOKE!
Bottom line is British car auctions BCA is the biggest online scams auction!!
Good luck!!

Dear BCA Customer Service,

Dear BCA Customer Service,

I would like to raise a complaint regarding the behaviour of one of your staff members, Mr. Martyn Hearne.

I have noticed on several occasions that certain vehicles in poor condition are being pushed up in bids during auctions. I strongly suspect that Mr. Hearne is involved in artificially increasing the bid price (“bidding up”) on vehicles that are clearly faulty. This practice is unfair and misleading to genuine buyers.

As a regular customer, I expect fair and transparent auction procedures. I ask that you investigate this matter seriously and take appropriate action if any misconduct is found.

no consistency in reports at all

there is absolutely no consistency in the mechanical reports, they give a 'requires attention red' when there is no problem and a 'green all good' when there is a major fault. I have no confidence in biding anymore and that's after decades of being a customer. Please Re Open the Halls and do actual auctions where the bidder can decide first hand and not rely on staff milling around without a clue of what they are doing.

I am writing this review to warn anyone…

I am writing this review to warn anyone thinking of buying from British Car Auctions (BCA). I’m based in London and purchased a car through BCA, which I had to collect from their Edinburgh branch. The listing showed the car as drivable and in good condition, but after purchase, I contacted their support to confirm details and was told the car was actually not drivable. Despite multiple calls and emails to their customer service, I received no clear answers for over a week. Eventually, they changed their story again, saying the car might be drivable — still with no certainty. Because of this confusion and delay, I was forced to pay extra storage fees for the vehicle sitting at their Edinburgh site, even though this was caused by their poor communication and misinformation.

When I questioned the unfair charges, they shifted the blame to me, hiding behind vague and confusing terms and conditions I was never clearly informed about. Then they passed my case to their so-called sister company, who started threatening me, insisting I must answer their phone calls and pay even more money or face further consequences. Their aggressive and unprofessional behavior only added to my stress. After researching online, I discovered many others have faced the same problems: misleading listings, poor or no customer support, extra fees, threats, and a complete lack of accountability.

This is not just bad service — it’s a clear pattern of exploiting buyers using unclear policies and ignoring their responsibilities. I strongly urge anyone who’s had a similar experience to report British Car Auctions and their sister company to Trading Standards and Citizens Advice and to share their story in reviews so others don’t fall victim. I regret trusting BCA and advise others to avoid buying from them altogether.

Bad company

Bad company
The security of this company isn’t great
I got most of my information before they wanted proof of who I was.
That was hacked beginning of February 2025 . But denied it even after it was published.
I have experienced usage of account and regularly see the same vehicle going through time and time again.
I have never actually bought or bid with this company but had to rush to close it due to string happenings . The staff haven’t been helpful, I have had to go through police reports. Really stay clear as there so much suspicious activity going around it’s all over the web not hard to google,

Like most other reviews

Like most other reviews. Did not arrive when booked in for collection and by the sounds of it never had any intention! Now making us wait another week with the car before they will come to collect. Meaning they are coming on the day the car's MOT runs out! Been told they'll bring a loader....won't hold my breath!!!!

Very unprofessional I did a voluntary…

Very unprofessional I did a voluntary termination with a vehicle on finance I contacted BCA to agree a date for the vehicle to be collected, waited in all day until it got to the point I realised no one was coming so I contacted BCA and asked what was happening to be told unfortunately we had some errors on our system and there's no one available to collect the vehicle, its one thing that I waited in all day for a collection wasting my time on my day off work its another the fact no one contacted me via phone email or text to let me know what was happening I had to call myself to find out what was going on ... I said I wanted to make a complaint about the service and the advisor said we cant deal with complaints you need to contact your finance provider so they took no accountability for the issue and tried to pass the buck which made me even more frustrated with the service absolutely appalling if I could give less than one star I would I have now contacted the company via a complaints email I found online again myself the advisor could of given me that information however they didn't seem to want to engage in my complaint so why would they? Once again very unprofessional all you get is broken promises no communication and poor service I am awaiting a response from them if they do see this review I hope they do respond...

Bought a Dacia Sandero from BCA

Bought a Dacia Sandero from BCA, on an Essential check. All green ticks apart from over filled coolant, graded 3.
Car arrived in car park, could hear it coming the timing chain was so loose and rattling.
No point in complaining as you never get anywhere, and get fobbed off with the essential check excuse, despite other cars listed having warnings of engine tapping/rattling. Had to spend £450 to have a new chain fitted. If I had physically seen this car, I would not have bidded so high.

**TRUST BCA DELIVERY? HUGE MISTAKE! Read My Nightmare Experience.**

Thinking of paying BCA extra for their car delivery service? Think again. Unless you enjoy being lied to, chasing shadows, and having your plans wrecked, I'd strongly advise against it. Learn from my mistake.

I had the *pleasure* of speaking with THREE different people in BCA's delivery department. One to change the delivery date (to a Friday I *needed* it by), and two more chasing them for updates when, surprise surprise, nothing was happening. Funny how in *none* of these conversations did anyone mention their secret "up to 10 working days" policy. Nope, they happily confirmed the Friday date and reassured me multiple times it was definitely happening. Their website even says 'Scheduled' delivery – which any sane person would assume means, you know, *scheduled for that day*. Apparently, in BCA-land, 'Scheduled' is code for 'Maybe, eventually, but we won't tell you that'.

If I'd had even a *whiff* of the truth – that 'Scheduled Friday' was just a nice story they tell – I'd have driven the easy 90 minutes to collect the car myself. But silly me, I *trusted* them. I've used BCA before and service was fine, so I figured paying their hefty £200 delivery fee (instead of £80 from another provider!) was worth it for reliability. Oh, how wrong I was.

What did my extra £120 get me?
* **Zero proactive updates:** Don't expect them to keep you informed.
* **Constant chasing:** Get ready to spend *your* time phoning *them*.
* **Clueless staff:** Their own delivery team couldn't even tell me where my car was.
* **Blatant lies:** Being told delivery was definitely happening on Friday, when it clearly wasn't planned.
* **A late car:** Obviously.

Seriously, BCA, what value are you providing for that premium price? I feel completely ripped off – lied to, ignored, and forced to chase you, only to get the car late anyway.

Had just *one* person been honest and said Friday wasn't guaranteed, I would have instantly cancelled the delivery and collected it myself. Instead, I had to cancel important weekend plans and miss family events, costing me far more inconvenience and stress than the £200 fee. All because I foolishly trusted BCA could manage the simple task of delivering a car when they promised.

Save yourself the headache, the wasted money, and the cancelled plans. Arrange your own collection or use a different company. Don't trust BCA's delivery promises.

Bunch of absolute greedy incompetent crooks.

Bunch of absolute greedy crooks.
Out of 447 reviews here, only 1 Positive and 446 are 1 Star Negatives, think that SAYS IT ALL!
We've bought over 50 cars and Motorbikes in under a year and what a bunch of numpties, not interested at all and what a load of sh i te they sell, using outdated cameras taking very poor pictures not showing true condition and 9 times out of 10 "forgetting" to put issues on condition reports or their drivers damaging the cars after pictures taken, then they say sold as seen when you complain. ZERO customer relations and no interest in keeping businesses who buy regularly and in turn pay your wages. BCA should be called Blind Car Auctioneers, missing condition reports and fake bidding up on lots.
We will be giving Manheim a go, used them before 15 years ago in Bristol and they certainly were more professional and very enthusiastic to sign us up.
OH and the car we bought, a BCA employee left a log book, set of keys and service history in a BCA envelope for a completely different car a 2016 Corsa in it, which we didn't buy, so someone is not going to be happy,,,,
After the conversation I just had, over a piece of crap with undisclosed written off damage {Glasgow} that they wont accept liability for, in the bin that v5, key and service book went.
If minus was a rating they would get -5

Absolutely vile company...

Absolutely vile company...

During my 9 months of working for this company I was treated as an outsider, met with hostile and cocky managers. I lost my mother whilst employed with this company and had to take care of my siblings, there was no sympathy for my situation and no time off given... I had explained my situation may times however always met with a cold shoulder. I was forced to come into work even when i had explained I was mentally not well and thinking to do some bad stuff. Your just a number for this company nothing else, would never work or go near this company again stay away people.
