Beautiful Chain But Underweight
The chain itself looks fantastic. The 925 silver is bright and the diamond-cut finish really sparkles. Top marks for appearance and build quality.
However the specs are off. My 55cm chain was listed at 24g in the description but weighs only 19.65g. That's nearly 20% underweight and far outside their ±5% tolerance. Measures just over 3.0mm at thickest part using digital calipers. It feels like I paid for a 3.5mm chain but received a 3.0mm one.
Disappointed by the inaccuracy, but the quality of what I did receive is good.

Edit: Meine ursprüngliche Kritik war fair und sachlich. Ich habe Taipan kontaktiert, um sie auf ein Qualitätsproblem aufmerksam zu machen, nicht um eine Entschädigung zu fordern.
Die Antwort des Unternehmens war jedoch derart unprofessionell und herablassend, dass sie das ursprüngliche Problem weit in den Schatten stellt. Zitate wie „We're still talking about silver here, not gold, where every gram counts” sind inakzeptabel.
Aufgrund dieser Reaktion habe ich meine Bewertung von 3 Sternen auf 1 Stern geändert.
Da das Produkt nicht der Beschreibung entspricht, wurde nun eine offizielle Beschwerde beim Netzwerk der Europäischen Verbraucherzentren (ECC-Net) eingereicht. Diese wird an die zuständige Stelle in Deutschland (EVZ) weitergeleitet und beruht auf Verstößen gegen § 434 BGB (Sachmangel) und § 5 UWG (Irreführende geschäftliche Handlungen).

Regarding the weight and width, unfortunately, there are batch-specific tolerances that we cannot influence.
We have also had batches that were significantly wider than the stated 3.5 mm. Regarding your concern that you paid too much, I can refer you to our retail prices.
First of all, the chain itself is already sold at an extremely reasonable price, which is probably why you bought the chain from Germany in Portugal.
Furthermore, you bought the 55 cm rope chain from us for €109. As you may have overlooked, we also sell the 60 cm version for €109.
We're still talking about silver here, not gold, where every gram counts.
I hope I've been able to alleviate some of your concerns with this explanation.
Furthermore, we no longer provide weight information because the tolerances between the different batches unfortunately do not allow it.

Da du offensichtlich doch Deutsch sprichst, hier nochmal der Erklärungsversuch auf Deutsch.
Zunächst einmal machen wir seit Jahren keine Gewichtsangaben bei unseren Produkten, aus dem oben genannten Grund.
Darüber hinaus war der Hinweis, dass wir unsere Kordelketten in der 45 und 50 cm Variante zum jeweils selben Preis verkaufen, ein Erklärungsversuch, dass sich unsere Preise bei Silber nicht ausschließlich nach dem Gewicht richten.
Ebenso wie unsere 55 und die 60 cm, und auch die 65 und 70 cm Variante zum exakt selben Preis verkaufen.
Das könnten wir bei Gold natürlich nicht machen, da die Goldpreise deutlich höher sind, als bei Silber.
Wir als Unternehmen nehmen den Verlust bei Silber einfach hin und passen die Preise bei diesem Model immer erst im 10 cm Abschnitten an.

Spoiler alert: Great Britain has left the EU! That's why there are such things as customs fees. I don't know why this surprises you so much and why we have to warn you about tariffs?
But hopefully you'll know for the future.
Ps.: I recently ordered goods from Great Britain worth €25 and had to pay €12.66 in customs. This is annoying, but completely normal.
And by the way. The money goes neither to us nor to Germany, but is collected and retained by Great Britain.

Hello dear customer,
you ordered from Switzerland, a non-EU country, in Germany, a country that is in the European Union.
Therefore, customs duties are incurred when importing into Switzerland.
Switzerland has very strict regulations regarding the import of precious metals.
This has to do with the fact that, on the one hand, they want to protect their own industry (luxury brands that produce wristwatches and jewelry), but also want to protect Swiss customers from buying inferior goods.
The invoice you received from DHL is a random precious metal inspection commissioned by Swiss customs.
Anyone who regularly sends jewelry to Switzerland, like us, has to register with Swiss customs with a responsibility stamp, which is then registered, which is a very complicated and expensive procedure, but of course we did it.
Swiss customs commissions DHL to carry out random checks to see whether the requirements are met and unfortunately invoices the affected customers for this precious metal test together with customs and VAT, since the customs duties are mandatory and the test serves the customer's interest.
If we did not meet the requirements, customs would not wave through the ordered items at all, but would send the jewelry to the laboratory and bill us for the costs.
As I said, these samples are only taken randomly.
I find this approach understandable, even if it obviously annoys those affected in this case. But these are the rules of Switzerland that everyone has to adhere to.
