Beware: Customers pay for returns even if it's the company's fault / poor quality control

The straps aren't bad, and in fact I've bought from Strapcode before without issue. Unfortunately, the problems arise when you need to make a return. I bought a strap that did NOT fit my watch, despite the advertised strap width matching the lug width of the watch, it was just too wide for the lugs. It's a $10k+ watch. I am sure that there has been no mistake in the manufacture or the tolerances of the watch itself. I am sure that the strap was too wide. It did not fit. I asked for a return. I was asked for photo proof... fine. Then I was told to make the return I must pay for my own return postage. This is what baffles me. I know this is stated in the return policy, but come on. The company itself made a mistake. Either something with the production or the quality control was wrong, because their strap of a specific advertised size does not fit my watch with the same lug width. Now *I* have to pay for the return shipping because of the company's mistake?? What a joke. I would keep away from this company. If you buy a strap and it works out, then great. I don't think the products themselves are poor quality. I would understand if they asked you to pay for return shipping if a customer had buyer's remorse, or otherwise wanted to return a strap just because they didn't like it, or some other superficial reason. But if you have an issue that's their fault, you pay out of your own pocket for the company's mistake, which is a shame.

My A1 experience wit Strapcode

I recently purchased an Angus J Louis watch bracelet with fitted end links for my Seiko GMT directly from Strapcode. I couldn't be happier with the quality, fit and finish of the product. In addition the shipping was 3 days from HK to the USA. After arrival, I had a question, so I emailed customer service. Katrina from CS replied in 4 hours. Bottom line - Quality product, quality experience dealing with the company.
I'm honestly surprised by the one star reviews I see on here and felt obligated to share my own positive experience. By the way, if you are leary of dealing with Strapcode direct, several of their products are available on Amazon or at Long Island watch.

Don't buy here.

Purchased a Milanese superfine mesh watch bracelet. The product was of very poor quality. Followed instructions to a T and the product would not hold up when adjusting the length of the bracelet. A small rod bent making the bracelet even less safe than with just the flimsy clasp. Return costs and deductions are excessive. I sent pics of the bent rod and requested a FULL refund. No response.

Importing from Alibaba

I've seen Strapcode bands on Alibaba for $3 or less than $10 USD. I'm not sure if Strapcode is directly purchasing from them or placing an order after a user places an order.

Or Alibaba is copying them, Although it’s hard to believe.

Beware of Thieves

I placed an order for a strap as it appeared to be in stock. However, the next day, I received a cancelation/refund notice. The amount for the strap was refunded but there was an additional 'foreign currency' charge, which was not. I contacted customer service, and we went back and forth over several emails. Finally, they agreed to refund the charge if I provided my PayPal address because 'their system can't process refunds for that charge the same way other refunds are processed.' Over a month later, the charge has not been refunded. In other words, I was charged and never received anything but emails. That equates to theft in my eyes. They're thieves and they earned this review.

Rollerball Steel Strap

I ordered a Rollerball Steel Strap and received it in 5 days, from Hong Kong to Ireland.

The strap is top class.

I didn't receive any confirmation email but got a text from FedEx.

I dealt with Katrina, she was very helpful.

Poor customer service

I’ve ordered at least 20 straps from this company. And recently they sent me two of the wrong straps, and they refuse to send me the straps I paid for. Instead they offered to send me a buckle. I won’t be using this company anymore and if you value customer service I wouldn’t if I was you either.

BEWARE!!!

I am in the process of dealing with Katrina at Strapcode about a mesh bracelet delivered with a fault. The order was recieved 3 months ago. I am being told, after submission of proof and pictures, exchanges/refunds/replacements can't be done after 14 days... so when you spend your money with this company, beware. I've now read many reviews of faulty or badly manufactured products, when you consider the prices, that price includes zero accountability and after market support.

Super Engineer 2 - Great Bracelet!

Wanted a quality bracelet for my Heuer Autavia Heritage, but struggled because of the 21mm lug width. Took a chance on a "Super Engineer 2", and it arrived in about 8 days. Really nice quality, looks fantastic on the wrist. Really pleased

Strapcode should not be trusted

Bought a Strapcode mesh band for a wristwatch, but I did not like it, because of the clasp mechanism which is not user friendly. The band was delivered quite promptly, but when I notified their customer service that I wanted to return it for a refund, I was advised the product needed to be returned to Hong Kong!!! They also stated there would be a $10 restocking fee applied. This company is obviously of dubious character. The cost of international shipping to return the band, along with the farcical restocking fee, make the return nearly as expensive as the product. I will NEVER do business with this company again and there are more reliable options. Shame on me for not doing a little research before my purchase. Additionally, there is a similar company under the name Strapco, and it appears the Strapcode people are siphoning.

Over priced

First off, reading some of the other reviews, you should never pay anyone to put on a watch bracelet. Its a simple process and a watch repair kit with basic tools is $20 on ebay. That being said strapcode bracelets are not bad. A bit over priced imo for the finish. If you have a large wrist like myself they will not give you the links needed to fit and charge $15 a link plus shipping. Thats highway robbery.

Bracelet Defective Strapcode Not Interested

I've recently taken delivery of a Strapecode bracelet for my Seiko Samurai Limited Edition watch, I orderd it through Amazon UK. Before fitting the bracelet I had to remove 3 links so that it fit my wrist, once fitted it I was admiring it on my wrist and found a manufacturing defect on one end link. Unfortunately after seeing the defect I now see it every time I look at my watch. Given these bracelets are expensive I decided to send photographs clearly identifying the defect to Strapcode and asked them to send me a replacement end link to save me having to completely remove the bracelet and refit the three links then package it for return to Amazon. Their response was as follows:-

"Apologies for the experienced, we understand that you purchased a Strapcode brand bracelet from Amazon however we advised that you contact Amazon to arrange claims as they prep and fulfill orders."

I phoned Amazon who requested I return the Bracelet, which I've decided not to do due to the hassle involved in doing that. So I purchased a Strapcode bracelet average price over £100 but they have no interest in helping me with the defect, how difficult would it be for them to send me a replacement end link so I only have to remove one end of the bracelet replace the link then reattach the bracelet. This experience means there's no way I can recommend Straplink if this is how they respond to customers reporting defective products...
