Overpriced public records
I object to the recurring charges being applied to my credit card. The terms of this agreement were not disclosed in a clear or transparent manner at the time of enrollment. All relevant information is, by law, a matter of public record. The Hamilton County Recorder’s Office is misleading residents of Hamilton County in its promotion of this product. This raises a serious concern: does the County receive financial benefit or a kickback from these charges?
As for the many positive reviews, the mechanism is clear: after an interaction with customer service, users are directed here to leave feedback. What you see are not reviews of the underlying service, but of customer support. In my view, this company is running a scheme through local government offices, and doing so with a sophisticated ability to manipulate public perception—thanks in no small part to the complicity of local officials.
They offered a refund of $20 for the billing in October. My best estimate is that they collected over $100 before I caught on—that’s on me for trusting the Recorder’s office. Don’t do business with this company.
