PRTG: Stuck in the 90s, Priced in 2050
PRTG used to be a solid choice, but the skyrocketing licence prices and the move to a subscription model are a sad joke. You end up paying a lot more money for zero real improvements. The GUI still feels stuck in the 90s, and on mobile devices, it’s practically unreadable – the app is basically unusable. Customisation is poor, and the map/graph designer is clunky at best. The only positive thing I can say is: it works… sometimes.

Bad business practice and new prices
Software is OK, nothing special. But their business practice is bad. From one year to next, they increased their price by several hundred percent. So they trick you into using it and then increase it extremely fast and high.

Turned to oneof the most expensive Tools on the market
It is a great, full featured and easy to use Monitoring Tool.
But with the recent price increase (increase does not quite describe it, it's a muliplier of 3 to 6 now) we are not going to renew it and will migrate with the end of the currenct license. We used to pay around 6000€ for 3 years, now it's 32.000€.

Good working program, sometimes an ugly UI (opinion)
Works well, sometimes a bit ugly. The PRTG program works well for its usage. I have no technical feedback except the UI could use a bit of an overhaul.

Bad business policies, but OK software
It can only run in Windows. So not that great, a Linux version would have been far more ideal. Still, it does it job as a SNMP-monitoring and for the price it was up until now it wasn't worth looking for replacement.
As a long term customer, we were shocked to know that prices are up 300% increased at renewal time and mandatory 3 years with no prior notice. During our time with the software (10 years or more), it has been very little development and the new UI isn't better than the old one (rather opposite). So basically they ask for a far, far higher amount for a less product.
It is sad that a company follow other companies in the industry that leave out all small businesses and only target top 1% that will pay their huge, new prices. For new customers, they should expect that prices can increase heavily at any moment just like we experienced. As a company that is here for long term and not only next 1-2-3 years, we can't longer trust Paessler that seems to spikes prices when you have gotten used to the tool, instead of offering reasonable prices. This follows the (bad) practices of other software companies in the industry.

It is better than anything I have seen…
It is better than anything I have seen on the market. Unfortunately our Company cannot afford it as we only have under 50 devices. But when I worked for the Peen Entertainment (Horse Racing and Casino's) we used it intensively to monitor multiple sites, services as well as custom probes. Love it!
