I was promised that the appropiate documentation would be sent in the post, instead, sent by email, which, without a printer, is no good to me.

INSURE AND GO POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS SHOULD BE DILIGENT

I&G have responded to my TP review. Thanks. Unfortunately the correspondent has tried to mask the truth. Twice the employee has used the term “sorry we have let you down this time”. My previous emails make it apparent - we were let down more than one time. No comment to my statement of 41% of clients rate I&G as 1*. One reviewer suggests that higher stars rating applies to ease of taking a policy out. Her opinion, not mine - I haven’t read every review to analyse. So far as my agreed instructions that paperwork etc be directed to me and NOT my seriously ill husband, the comment “something we take seriously” is insulting. It was not taken seriously.
I was ignored. I have the recent paperwork from I&G addressed to him to prove it. Shameful. Suggest the phone conversation I had for approx. 1 hour - to I&G to stop the communications going to my husband and be diverted to me, should be listened to. My understanding is that when a medical insurance company does not have an in-house compliance officer and due to regulations has to have one - it goes to another company to meet requirements, but these cannot be administered by more than one company . If this is correct[?] only one underwriter can be used, in this case Zurich. I cannot comment as to whether this is usual or not. However the statement “our own teams stay closely involved to help” is news to me. As far as I know, I&G are brokers, who take the policy money but then tell the client that any claim, has to go to the assessment company, who then pass their findings to underwriter. We started out dealing with 1 company which was I&G and I ended up having to deal with 3.

My boiler wasn't heating my water and I…

My boiler wasn't heating my water and I knew I had taken out insurance but wasn't sure what company it was. I stopped a debit for insurance hoping this company would make contact and they did. But now I'm told my claim isn't an emergency explained the delay. I also understand home emergency is a period of 14 days they refused to come out and said I would pay if they sent an engineer out. I'm 68 a senior citizen isn't this very petty and this isn't the first time I e been refused a claim as it was late. Shame I'm so honest as if I had said the boiler has packed up ovetnight an engineer would have been called out

Ignored msgs, failed website.

Two msgs let to renew policy were not replied to. Website failed to recognise new password. Had to sign on as a new customer and spend extra time answering questions which had been answered in the previous 2 years that I've been a "valued customer" (your words, not mine). Not a good experience, with a not great result.

They have a new web portal for quotes…

They have a new web portal for quotes and the 4 main levels of cover have changed slightly. The Basic level has been renamed Essential and what used to be Essential is now called Standard. I bought the Standard cover but the policy schedule still says Essential and all the PDF downloadable policy docs have not been updated since 2014/15. I called them and they sent a revised schedule but it’s pretty unprofessional that with something as important as insurance that their IT administration and documentation is pants 😡😡😡

My mother repatriated after injury from abroad.

Had my mother's travel ins. She was injured abroad. Insure & Away allocated a firm which looked after the claim professionally. They liaised with the hospital abroad, their agents sorted the payments, a nurse went from England to South Asian country, brought her back using Emirates in Business and First class via Dubai straight into A&E here by limousine from Gatwick, handed her to doctors, very polite gentleman. Hassle free repatriation-Start to finish. Using them again this month.

Good Customer Service When you get through

A the Policy after taking out holiday insurance with Insureandaway, I was unable to download the Policy schedule.
It was almost impossible to speak to anyone and even after leaving a message no one got back to me.
After two days I eventually managed to speak to someone.
I found that I had been charged an amount which did not relate to any policy. However I knew the amount I had agreed, so the first policy was cancelled and a new one agreed.
The documents which were to be sent by email did not arrive that day..
I phoned Insure and Away the following day and after half an hour and 6 attempts I managed to get through. Apparently they were having problems with the server.
However the Advisor, Bev Travis used her own email to send the documents to me, and these came within a few minutes.
She was extremely obliging and polite and could not fault her response.
Well done to her.
